Recruiting 2017

Did I read somewhere they had 15 drop down players? When do we cross over from pride to keeping up with the rest of the league?

That's a question for the university administration. It is my understanding the athletic department has no say when it comes to academic requirements and the ability to recruit student-athletes who meet the Big Sky and NCAA minimum requirements but not ISU's. It is simply out of their hands.

That is the result of the football program almost getting hit with the death penalty by the NCAA because of things that went on in the previous coaching staff.

Nothing the current athletic department can do about it.

Last weeks game performance was truly embarrassing and a pathetic display of football. I am tired of excuses.
It was not even competitive !!!! Injuries are a part of the game and every team has them. Being RAN over like that by a team in the Big Sky is completely
unacceptable. The players deserve
better coaching period. I sincerely like Kramer as a person, head coach and recruiter. However,
just like Zamerlin his past success obviously needs to be credited to his previous OC and DC not him.
We all need to retire someday and it is time now for Kramer to go. I realize ISU is a stepping
stone for young creative and competent coaches so we now need new leadership and direction for this program.
Enough is enough. Thanks Mike for the effort and God bless you moving forward.

I understand your frustration. All I can say in reply is that Mike would still be owed money on his contract and with the apparent budget situation (the team bussed over two days to Portland for example) I don't see where that money would come from and also, I'm always curious when folks call for a change to see some specific names mentioned as realistic replacement candidates. I don't know if there are as many as some think who would be jumping at the bit to take over at ISU. As Brad had eloquently pointed out there are a number of serious hurdles that have to be overcome if you want consistent competitive success in football in Pocatello.
