Recruiting: What say we go after THIS guy?

Austin Rehkow of Spokane (WA)-Central Valley nailed a 67-yard FG FROM THE LEFT HASH to force overtime in a shootout against Shadle Park.

Given that Castaneda is a junior and will be gone after next year, I think it would be a great idea to have a freshperson with THIS kind of leg learn from him, and then have three years to shine. We DO have two other untried kickers on the roster, not to mention the two punters (one of whom most fans here would love to jettison), but I don't think a leg of this caliber should be missed.

What say you?

keep in mind HS kickers use a tee/block to kick FGs off of and there is always a transition period to learning to kick off the ground. That being said i watched the video of that kick and it was very impressive.

Since we're on the subject of recruiting, I was going through the Cerritos College roster and in the bio of one of their QBs, he states he would like to transfer to Sac St (or Michigan St). How often do you hear of a JuCo player in SoCal desiring to transfer to Sac St? Pretty awesome.

Maybe he just likes green uniforms! He is a crimnal Justice major, I don't know about Michigan State but Sac State has always had a very strong Criminal Justice Program.

Michigan State does have a fine Criminal Justice program (the oldest in the nation) plus a Masters degree is offered.

I heard the Eastern Washington announcers say that Stanford was also interested in that kicker now and that Eastern's scholarship was a "partial" scholarship.

I don't think so, Sperbeck and the University have been pretty clear about recruiting California kids, specifically from Nor Cal.
