Well, the out of conference portion of the schedule is complete and it's all Big Sky play from here on out! My first reaction is, WOW! If someone had told me that EWU would be 2-1 at this point, without having the best player in the country for 1.5 games, I wouldn't have thought it was possible.

This team is special and could easily be 3-0 right now. There is a ton of season left to play and NAU will be no cupcake. In fact, it very well could be the toughest game remaining. I hope that the week off for Coop will help him heal up and be ready and I also hope we can start getting some more players back soon. I think after seeing what this team is capable of, 2-2 would be somewhat disappointing. 4 weeks ago, I just hoped that's what we'd be at that point!

Agreed on all of the above. NAU is a good football team, and this will be a tough game. It'll be extremely important to get a lot of our injured guys back ASAP. We're a really good football team, but we will struggle with this many players missing games. There are a lot of good Big Sky opponents coming up and we aren't good enough to win many if we don't play our starters. The talent is there; now we need to show the toughness to match!

Even though the conference schedule is going to be brutal, it's great to be at 2-1 at this point in the season. I think that's the best that most of us had hoped for and certainly a much better start than last year.
