Sacramento State was viewed as having the best bid in meeting the CIF's criteria, such as capacity, location and cost.
Having a ton of recruits on campus for a playoff game certainly can't hurt. All five NorCal winners advance to the CIF State Bowl games the following weekend in Carson.
Those games soon could be played at Sac State, too. Sac State athletic director Terry Wanless said over the weekend that his school has put in "a great bid to be a part of this."
High school playoff games have become a fixture at Hornet Stadium. The Sac-Joaquin Section Division I and Division II (and sometimes Division III) championship games have been played at Sac State since 2010 and will be for at least the next three years. Commissioner Pete Saco said the section has been "thrilled" with Sac State.

Yes they have the authority. The question is, will Lou steer his Folsom kids to Sac State.SDHornet said:I’m not going to rehash this saga, but know that any HC in any program at any university has the right to make moves in whatever direction they deem necessary. If this means changing well established coaches then so be it, as HC they have that authority.
OldGreen67 said:I have heard nothing but great things about Coach Baiz...but with that said, any coach worth a d@mn would never steer a player away from a program. They would help players choose what best fits that players opportunity to play, as well as academics and finances. For a coach it should never be personal. Now if a "said" college screws over an player from a HS, for example pulling a scholly after a player gives a verbal or something, then a HS Head Coach could possibly recommend to other players in his program that a paticular college recruiting habits are bad...have seen that before. :twocents:
