Retire #10

Retiring numbers is dumb, they should make 10 a legacy number. Create a tradition and something to rally around, nobody better player to emulate and start something positive than Kupp

Whatever the approach, I agree that in some way, we should honor that number. Kupp has done unthinkable things on the field, and is one of heck of a high character person. What an incredible representative of EWU football!

Agreed - this would be great. Pass the number down to a hard working, Washington kid who best emulates the characteristics that Kupp was all about - like Montana does with their #37 jersey.

I hate copying UM for anything - but I'll give them credit where it's due...really cool tradition.

Disagreed. Nobody that wears the #10 from here on out is going to do it justice, and the inevitable comparisons would never be fair to that guy.

The whole point of retiring a jersey is setting it aside because nobody else that wears it will ever compare. Montana does it with 37, but the player wearing it is seldom good enough in the eyes of the fans.

I'm with you. Make it an honor to wear that jersey. Give it to the skill position player that works the hardest each offseason. I think that shows more reverence than retiring the number. Maybe give out Michael Roos' number (which I don't remember off the top of my head) to the lineman that works hardest.

I am sure that they will retire #10 in due time, maybe in a few years.

I'm not against the idea of making #10 a legacy number, either. I think there would need to be a stipulation that whoever wears it must be from the state of Washington, however.

maybe they'll wait a few years and retire it in conjunction with the dedication of KUPP STADIUM. :)

one can dream, right?

Hey, that has a nice ring to it!

"Washington Marijuana Growers Collective Stadium"

Why not? Those guys are rolling in money these days.

On second thought, I'd rather name it for Cooper Kupp.

I'd hold off on any comparisons between Kupp and Roos for now. Michael Roos was a NFL pro bowler who played for 10 seasons. I love Coop but we don't even know if he's going to be playing in the league yet.

I don't see any comparisons being made. I think folks are mostly joking around.

This is a great idea.
