Did anyone see Stuckey the other night...... 4 points in the final minutes to seal the deal in Boston.

Very Impressive!

Steve Luhm of the Salt Lake Tribune has written a column which speaks very highly of Stuckey:

A broken hand suffered in the preseason prevented Stuckey from playing until late December but, after recovering, he became a rotation regular and - just maybe - the best rookie in the league.

He also wonders what "might have been" if Giacoletti had convinced him to follow him to Utah:

After the 2003-04 season, the Utes hired Eastern Washington's Ray Giacoletti as the permanent replacement for Rick Majerus. I covered Giacoletti's hiring and immediately liked him. He was friendly, humble and didn't stare down reporters like they were trying to lift his wallet or steal his car.

I also remember asking Giacoletti if any useful players at Eastern Washington might follow him to Utah. Again, he looked down, kicked at the floor and said, "Well, there's this one guy who is really, really good. But I couldn't do that to the guys at Eastern."

Giacoletti never mentioned a name, but I'm sure the player was Stuckey, who at the time was an Eastern Washington recruit. Eventually, he sat out one season to get his grades in order before becoming one of the best players in the country.
