On Jan. 17, the Big Sky Conference announced it has agreed to a five-year contract with DirecTV/ROOT SPORTS to televise Big Sky Conference Games.

Q: How many games will ROOT SPORTS televise, and what will the production quality be?
A: ROOT SPORTS can televise up to 18 football and up to 12 men's basketball games. All games will be High Definition. DirecTV/ROOT SPORTS is investing in the Big Sky and plans to make our games marquee events.

That's awesome. That's more than 1 football game a weekend and in HD.

Love it. Wonder if this affects the BigSky TV online thing.

From all the reports at the time this was first announced, the deal will only eliminate Big Sky TV service for games that actually make it onto ROOT.

What this really affects is Altitude, who appears to be out of the Big Sky game completely.

I saw this on facebook a while back it's an upgrade from Altitude of course all the MU fans were pissed for some reason....

That's odd, what were they expecting, their own network?

Nice to see that the online stuff will still be available.

It had something to do with the Root/Fox broadcast would limit their local broadcast or something, not sure if that's true or not. Then it just became them telling everyone they were too good for the Big Sky to which I replied please eff off to the WAC you're a perfect fit!
