Now if we can use them a little bit more in the passing game....it will really help develop our RB corps since that is are weakness coming into the year....

The new tight ends coach realizes that the tight ends have not been used enough. Now if coach Sperbeck is willing to open up the offense just a little more, we will be able to open up the running game.

I too hope we use the TE more this year. The TE is a great weapon and makes Defensive Coordinators stay up later at night game planning. This is a nice list of TE's, however if you follow recruiting some of these guys will end up as OL. TE's make great Offensive Tackles because they typically have better feet and the frame to add weight. Ray Navar - ex TE and OL All Conference. Gallindo and Doverspike were recruited as TE's and are now listed as OL's. I commend our staff in their recruiting knowledge.

Well I doubt that any of the current TE’s will be moved to OL. Their weights range from 220 – 235 pounds with the exception of senior Brian Heath who is 250 pounds. It would take quite a bit of time and “vitamins” to get these guys to a desired tackle weight. A position whose weight I imagine wouldn’t want to be below 280-285 pounds.

Also I just checked out Sacrat’s website and Sperbeck and Co pulled another OL Dustin Pfaff who is 6 foot 290 and will compete for the center role. As I look over the roster, I am trying not to get too excited for this upcoming season, but my prediction of 7 wins seems more and more plausible every day I think about it.

Go Hornets.

Check this out...the average high school recruit coming in this fall that will play offensive line is 6'4" and weights 279 lbs!
