Rumor

I just wonder what he got suspended from the team for. He hasn't played this year due to a suspension that I couldn't find the reason for when I was researching U of P prior to our game.

Why would Sommer be leaving? Why would he leave when he is the starting PG in his senior season?

He's sick of the Bone-headed coaching: Bad game strategies and nay-saying ad nauseum and micro-management...from the head Bone-head and his most-vocal assistant bone-head.

I sure don't have a warm and fuzzy feeling when the starting point guard walks.

That doesn't sound good but on the other hand we need more scoring from that position.

Very true.

I think Dominguez was going to be the starter anyway. Sommer probably would have lost his spot between Dominguez and Jenkins. My bigger question is whether or not Coston and Tiefenthaler can replace Juma.

Downside to Sommer is that when he gets emotional (often) his game goes down. A very good players game accelerates when he is emotional.

From what I hear, Dominquez has ALL of the tools...especially court vision...and I believe he'll start with EJ getting minutes as well. EJ will be better and better as he matures, stops his dribbling exhibitions, learns Bone's system, and sees more of the court.

Kyle needs to build on his strength, defense and moves; not rely 90 percent on his outside shot. He can't compete against the likes of Huff if he doesn't work on his whole game. He may never be fast; but he can be quicker. He's young and growing and could be a great one.

Don't discount the return of a healthy Mara either...I have high hopes for his future in the paint...he's a hard worker and a team player.

At this moment, Julius appears to be the best replacement for Juma...with another year of maturity, his strength, his work ethic and a hunger to score - he'll be a force in the paint.

My /users/31/07/37/smiles/681496.gif - see you all next year.

I'd love Julius to be the replacement. However, as I have said before, he is like the early, raw version of Alando Tucker at Wisconsin. He'll really need to work on his shot, but his defense and natural abilities could make him a star.

Kyle and Alex are post players, so I don't think they'll be asked to replace Juma. I'd look more to Lucas and Huff to step up their wing play with more consistent playing time. I think Mara could help with this, as well.

At which--post or wing? Mara is so intense, I'd just stick him at the 4 to start and watch him work. As to Kyle in the post, he'd have to get a lot stronger. He looked so afraid of going inside the 3 point line during the conference season.

Kyle looked like a frosh this last year. I think if he bulks up and improves on defense, he'll get some quality minutes next year. He had a lot of bad fouls this year that I think he won't have next year.

I'm pretty pumped about Mara. Injuries are bad, but he got another year with the team/system under his belt and didn't burn a year, so it's the old silver lining on a dark cloud. He should be a beast next year.
