Any runners out there? UNC Track and Field is hosting the Run For Roger this Saturday at 8am!
Please help us celebrate the memory of Roger Strempke; father of former UNC Track athlete Samantha Strempke Pellow. Roger was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who after a 14 month battle with cancer passed away Dec. 21, 2013. A memorial in Roger’s name was established and the Strempke family awards a Scholarship of Merit to a current member of the UNC Track and Field program. Roger loved the Denver Broncos, and he was the #1 fan of the University of Northern Colorado Bears Track Team.
The 5K Run will start at Nottingham Field and follows a paved course throughout Greeley and the UNC Campus. A cash prize will be presented to the top overall male and female finisher. All participants will receive a T-shirt.
The Run for Roger 5K Run benefits the endowment set up by the Strempke family and UNC Track and Field Program.
After the run, stick around for Fan Fest, Tailgating and BEAR FOOTBALL!
