These interviews are quite interesting.

SR: Where would you like to see the Hornet football and its facilities in ten years?

Leadingham: I would definitely like to see the football program be one of the elite in the Big Sky. It is a tough conference to be successful in, and it takes great coaching, and great recruiting to become a powerhouse in that conference. I think they have taken the right steps towards improving facilities, but in order to get to elite status, they are going to need big time money. I hope that they can get a couple of key recruits who can take the program to the next level. As everyone knows, the best way to raise money is to win ballgames.

Fat chance getting "big time money" in this economy. Spot on with the winning leading to more money comment though.

What big money? Sac State already has one of the highest athletic budgets in the SKY and in FCS. For a low tuition, public state school, we should be golden.

I think he was referring to a T Boone Pickens kind of "big time money" donor who has a few hundred million bucks lying around to throw at a new stadium, more and better facilities, ect...

hahaha, good one WH. UCD had Mondavi throwing money at them (until bankruptcy and death got him), and I believe the Trinchero's had donated handsomely to the Hornet program already. some potential stadium names would have been:
"The House that White Zin Built", "The Zin Bin", "Soccer is for _ussies", "Trinchero Ranchero". can't we get an heir to Sebastiani, Duckhorn, or Phelps to be a waterboy or the Hornet mascot or something? :lol:
