Ryan "The Beast" Eastman is back!

2008_01.jpg

As of today Ryan Eastman is enrolled at WSU again. The U of Hawai'i is in turmoil right now trying to decide where it will be next year. The Beast just wants to be back with Coach Mac. Eastman was an all-conference honorable mention as a true freshman and sophomore season. His sophomore year he was a preseason all-big sky selection and still making honorable mention just showed what a great player he was even in a season plagued with injuries and missing a number of games.

Mac was glad to have him back where he belongs. This was also great news for Eastman.

The Beast will be back officially in a couple weeks. He will redshirt the 2010 season and then play his junior and senior year after.

At Hawaii, they were going to use him as a DE/LB because of his speed and he has trimmed down to 250 recently. While playing at WSU last season he was over 270 lbs.

This is also good news to the Purple Pak which had a good relationship with Eastman's dad, Bulla, who was very generous to them.

This is good news for NEXT year. Too bad he made the incorrect decision to leave in the first place, causing him to miss a year. Weber could sure use him this year. The D-Line is a big question mark to start the year, and it could get ugly versus BC. They have a huge, experienced, and talented O-line (4 returning starters that average 6'6'', 309 lbs) and an all-American type running back who has already ran for 2,357 yards in two seasons. Here's a link to a story the Trib recently did on Weber's D-Line. http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/sports/50168332-77/state-kaufusi-boston-college.html.csp

Welcome back Ryan and the Eastman family. SWeber, you can't diss on a player trying to fulfil a lifetime dream, but I am sure glad he is back!

I'm not dissing him, I'm dissing his decision. Just like I dissed it when he first made it. I'm glad to have him back, but seeing how things turned out, it's hard to argue that he did the right thing.

Hindsight is always 20-20 and many of us are not fortunate enough to see into the future.

With the impending implosion of the WAC, there is only one coach that 'the beast' will play for, Coach Mac. Although WSU could use him this year, it gives him the chance for a 100% recovery from the 'minor' injuries that sidelined him for a total of 6 games in 2009 as a result of 'cheap chop blocks' in the Colorado State and Montana games. He was still able to garner Honorable Mention All Conference at the end of the season. With only 6 games played, he was 2nd in sacks, and Top 10 in tackles....and had the potential for a record breaking season.

The main thing is he is back and wants to do whatever it takes to help the team to win and be the champions that they can be.

GO WILDCATS

Good news for weber, hopefully he can heal up and become more durable. (not really)

I had the opportunity to watch both the CSU and Griz game and I did not see a cheap shot against #95. The one against CSU to me looked like an unathletic move on Eastman's part and he twisted his own knee.

P.S. A cut block is not a chop block

With Eastman back, Malone Fiso, Adam White, and Bowers still there.....that would be an interesting D line for next season....we shall see.

Good to have seasoned players in the trenches, you can never have too many weapons on the line.

Best of luck to the Wildcats against BC this week.

Welcome back. There is a lot of love for you here. Once you've been here its hard to get the purple out of your blood. You are a man to match our mountains.

Great! Great! Great!

Maybe the BEAST can get fully healthy in this redshirt year.

He arrives tomorrow morning according to sources, has a meeting with Coach Mac in the morning. He has already been training and is quicker & stronger than when he left. He is looking to play on the edge as a DE when he gets back on the field. At 6'1 238 lbs. 'the beast' wants to get to a solid 250 lbs. playing weight. Let the fun begin................ :) :o :)

Did he grow 3 inches in the last 6 months?

Eastman, a 6-foot, 270-pound sophomore from Honoulu, Hawai'i, returned from an injury that sidelined him three games to spearhead Weber State's defense in a 31-13 upset of No. 14 Eastern Washington in Cheney. Eastman tallied a career-high three sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss, and helped the defense hold Eastern Washington to just 35 rushing yards on 27 attempts. All three of Eastman's sacks helped stopped Eagle drives, including one that came on third down. This is Eastman's first Player of the Week award

Do you think ANY of the players are the same height and weight listed on the roster?!??

Sorry Native I figured since he is still a young man, is he even 20 yet, that there was still a possibility that he could of grown. I know the SID sometimes exaggerates on the height and weights on some players and I have seen how tall Eastman is, so when Wildcat 100, who is a reliable source on Eastman, said he was 6'1 238 I thought he could of grown a little.

No harm, no foul... heck, maybe he DID grow. I don't care. I just know that on the field, he is a BEAST!

It would be nice to have 'The Beast' on that D line this year with all the injuries they are having. 2 years of experience might help the linemen focus for the Montana game....1st half we shut down Reynolds for the Grizzly, and then the 2nd half came along....ouch. GO DEFENSE

Latest report from Coach Kaufusi is that 'the beast' is ready to go at 100%. Can't wait for Spring ball to start, after the holidays. Can't wait to see the D line return to 'days of old' that stopped the run and pursued the pass.....stop the run first, and everything comes into play :)
