Now with season over, we know recruiting and who stays and goes will be a story every year in new NIL era.

Things to focus on unique to Sac:
Coaching Staff: Does coach stay on board? No playoff birth, team was better, just not quite hitting expectations with all the hype. His name has been mentioned in articles for various programs.
NCAA affiliation: officially to FBS as part of conference invite for football or purgatory?
Schedule: needs games. FCS independent , other FCS conferences losing members probably available. Pac/MWC maybe looking for away games. Affiliation announcement would guide this.
Facility: Will Cal Expo plan also fizzle? Then what if so?

Off-season storylines last year got the program reenergized, going to be same challenge this year.

As far as Marion…if someone takes his success as an OC at UNLV and combines it with more than doubling our win record from last season he might get a serious offer to move up. If it’s a reasonable situation I believe he jumps on it due to that always being his plan. The fact that Wood did not deliver on his promises of a new on campus stadium and/or the program moving up to FBS (PAC X) is only going to increase the odds of him leaving.

The biggest threat to the program’s success right now is not having a 2026 schedule locked in yet. We are going to lose coaches, players and recruits if we don’t get clear direction soon.
