Sac St Football in 2026-2027

I know everyone wants perfection (say the right things and be a big sports advocate that gets hornets to promise land) but at sac state, we won’t get perfect, can’t expect that. More people needed to be in support rather than all these back stabbers on twitter calling him a fool. He was right, FCS is JV, everything from Facilties, conferences and even refs are JV.
And yet we are still JV FCS, without a conference at any level and at best we will be playing at an offsite dilapidated horse track, stadium conversion.
What is it that you want/expect people to support…more promises and deadlines that haven’t been kept? Should we support Wood’s brother and the Sac 12? How about that 50-70 million dollar NIL account that doesn’t exist…should we support that?

did you really think that this jump in Football was going to be a walk in the park? It takes risk especially on a csu budget. No doubt President Wood’s lack of experience definitely showed, he made the BM hire and he really wanted it to work. A couple plays go differently and hornets would be hosting a playoff game this weekend and could have gone on a run into 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs, then the argument is a lot different. That’s the risk but don’t worry it’s easy to stay more like Stanislaus state rather than push to be more like Fresno/San Diego state.

So, instead of answering any of my legitimate questions you chose to play the "if" game.
Speaks volumes.
Being a big Wood fan can you tell me when he says "FBS or bust" what "bust" looks like?

No one forced Wood to not take the $100M he has and build a foundational home side stadium on campus. If the city/county/public support the program, then expand.

Sacramento will never have 30-40,000 fans attend a football game. Utter nonsense to think that.

Sac can’t beat FUCD in any sport. Sac is really just a Stanislaus, a poorly state funded teachers college.

At this point, Wood/Orr are in an utter free fall with no baseline in sight.

Bust means we half assed attempted to upgrade, fell woefully short in financial planning, reading the room and perceived support and we couldn’t sustain Big Sky football therefore we will put all the remaining sports that are Stanislaus level in a Stanislaus level like minded conference.

Hey. Hornets men's basketball is a really good Div II program, right now.

Your questions are hindsight, of course no one wanted this to be the end result. they’ll have to learn and improve. A lot of novice mistakes were made.

The MAC and CUSA 2026 schedules haven't been announced. Last year they were announced in March and February. Not saying we get into these conferences or work out a schedule agreement, but the victory dances by the haters is premature.

Victory dances by haters? How about the long-term supporters (I'm talking about decades) who are worried about Wood auguring the program the ground? So, since Hornet99 won't answer the question...how about you...what does "bust" mean?

Fingers crossed. It’s makes sense, niu had their last MAC game today. I don’t care what anyone says, sac st is one of the most popular FCS teams in terms of attendance and social media followers, Sac State football wouldn’t bring down the mean if taken in. I could see us being like Kennsaw St or Missouri St with Coach Marion still around.

If MAC or CUSA teams/leadership is smart, theyd welcome Sac St as an opportunity to recruit in a top HS football market. Those programs don’t land a lot of CA players usually
