Sac State @ EWU

Classic...we are the complete opposite of Montana...they have the mojo late in games, we have none....

Now lost to Montana, MSU, and Eastern by a combined 10 points

I noticed that SD Hornet couldn't take it anymore and bolted before the end. Don't blame him tho; it's hard to take these kind of losses three times in one year already.

This is beyond frustrating. The blame is clearly on the coaches on this one. Why do we go conservative on offense up 3 on the road with 4 to go? Common sense says to win the game right there!

Im going to get drunk now...

Ditto... Oops, already there :D

My thoughts exactly; about getting drunk now. I guess I go see what happens with the Giants now too.

Well, if that game is anything like this one, they'll lose in the ninth after going in with the lead. Sorry, hard to be optimistic right now.

Tough one to swallow, guys. I know how you feel...........(see EWU-Montana games 2004, 2007, 2009).

Sac deserved to win the way your team played in the second half. I thought we might roll the way that first half went, but our inability to play a full 4 quarters told me otherwise. I knew it'd be a close one.

Good luck the rest of the way, you guys have a good team.

We've had 3 games THIS season like that :x

Thanks, but it doesn't mean squat right now. Just like MSU, we dug ourselves too deep a hole to crawl out of. We always go limp on offense when we have a slight lead late and don't put it away.

Oh no, according to some on this board Sac should get some votes next week because they were close games and "quality" losses  .

Bottom line in this game, coaching did the team in. Horrible play calling lost this game.

could be worse...could have lost to South Alabama in front of 6000 people.

like...we....did.

actually, USA was not a bad team...they had some quality players out there. 3 QB's rotating, and all were decent (reminded me of Portland's QB). they had a receiver who had 2 TD receptions; guy was 6-3, 230 and was fast. somehow, these guys are playing 2 FBS games next year, and will be in the Sunbelt in 2013, their 4th year of existence. if Sac or Davis had this kind of support, there's be no stopping us.

and....we're not so good. you want a tough ending? down 24-21, 2 minutes to go. USA's ball at their 25, 3rd and 1. they BOTCH THE SNAP....DAVIS RECOVERS! incomplete, sack, bad snap that the RB picks up and scampers 5 yards to salvage the possession. All-conference kicker comes in for a 30-yarder to send it to OT....wide right.

boy that was a LONG ride back home to Livermore. Tequilla, anyone?

You guys lost that game? I turned off the radio after you went up 21-14, figured it was in the bag....That's the type of game Sac loses...brutal.

Why only 6k? Weather?

the weather wasn't bad...it sprinkled during half time, dry and mild otherwise.

our boxseats were almost empty. most of those were purchased for a 'lifetime' when we had the stadium fundraising. they keep renewing tickets, but, never show up. worse...they don't turn the tickets back for use by others. even worse, i keep trying to move UP into the boxes, and they aren't available.

its midterm time for us, so student turnout wasn't great...LOUD, but, not too great.

funny game....like Portland and Weber, you walk away at the end saying 'what-if'. we're young..but....

for you guys, hard to count on 21-point fourth quarters (and a punt block?) against these good teams. NAU got beat up, so who knows about next week.

if you do lose at NAU, that Portland game could be a trap. be a shame to lose to them at home. they are dangerous.

Because they beat UCDung they are "Dangerous"? That makes every FCS team in the nation "dangerous" except maybe Idaho State. If we dont literally thump PSU and Dungpile I am officially giving up. Period.

i believe they lost on the last play of the game to Montana, and lost with 3 seconds to go AT Weber 44-41.

in the big sky, they've scored 38 (Idaho St), 31 (Montana St), 21 (Montana) and 41 (Weber). they put up 530 yard (ISU), 456 (MSU), 332 (Montana) and 600 (yeah, 600 on the road at Weber).

so...yes, they beat Davis....and...yes they can put on some points. so, yeah, they are dangerous.

i would imagine they must rank at the top of the BigSky in most offensive categories; probably toward the bottom in defense.

hate to mix facts into a message board, but...

The real fact is good teams win the close games!!! Average teams always have an excuse and talk about the quality of their losses. If we continue to talk about how close we are to winning, them Western Oregon must have been on cloud 9 with that quality loss we handed them. With the talent we have, (best in the Big Sky) the answer to why we can't win the close ones is obvious.

I had you at #24 in last week's AGS poll but I had to drop you out again after another close loss. You've had a tough string of games you should have won.

At least we didn't let a first year program come into our house and punk us. Oh I can feel that Laggie Pride now, kinda like jock itch.

 No I caught the whole thing. I had to bolt to the Shakira concert (took the g/f for her b-day) and she was screaming at me the whole time telling me we need to leave and get going. (Concert was at the Staples Center in LA). Of course when I grab the keys and head to the car she heads to the bathroom to do her hair.

We are not a top 25 team. Close losses to good teams mean nothing imo. Sperbeck hasn't been able to take this team to the next level. He has no excuses this year and anything less than a winning season is completely unacceptable. Still time to turn it around, but in reality, the only important game left is the Causeway.
