4. Run D in first half was non existent.
5. Take the win.

OK, where's the gimme game ?

Anyone else impressed with Sac State's line? Our rush had minimal penetration and they really paved some holes for some big plays. :notworthy:

Lots of dropped balls on both sides. Perhaps cold hands?

I dont understand the qb thing either. adams stuggles mightily in the MSU game and they dont put Padron in. Adams throws for 13 of 15 against sac state and then they decide to put padron in. huh?

Another game of just barely doing enough to win... although we faced a Sac State team that played really well. This wasn't another Weber game where we took a nice lead and then just shit ourself. Sac State made good plays all game long; I think they are a very well coached team.

One thing that really reared up is that we run out of the same sets and throw out of the same sets. It's really predictable. How often do we throw out of double tights? We did one time today. How often do we run out of a spread? Maybe 3-4 times today. It doesn't take a lot of effort to figure out what we're trying to do. Fortunately, we have enough talent to still make some of the plays, but we make it incredibly easy... especially to D up the run.

I'm sure this was preset. They probably told Padron that come hell or highwater, he was coming in on the fifth series. He had his mojo going, he really didn't make a single bad play all game except throwing on that first down when he should've tried running out the clock.

Ok, we had an interception by Grant Williams that was called an incompletion and they retained possession and scored a TD. The last TD they scored should have been called an incomplete pass. There's 14 points. We out gained them 454 yards to 288 and held them to 125 yards rushing. The offense scored 31 points despite several uncharacteristic drops by both Kaufman and Herd. The sky is not falling although it could have been a cleaner effort.

This team always plays us tough and we expected no less. This season is shaping up like the championship season. Crazy exciting finishes and no quit. BTW most of the folks eventually came back after half time. And if you haven't been to a game since they put up the video scoreboard, they've done a great job with videos and such. Very entertaining!

There were several BS calls that went against us in this game (the facemask call on the Ceja sack comes to mind), but unfortunately the Williams pick was a good call by the refs. I saw it in replay a few times, and the ball hit the turf.

NO WAY is that the #1 team in the nation !!!! That was a pathetic preformance at home and for Homecoming !!! To all you Eastern lovers , the ranking that counts is the one in January !!! Long way to go before that ! EWU 2011 NC"s !! And by the way, you want a QB controversy ? YOU got ONE !!!

You are probably the worst poster on this board. Starting to think you are just another alphajizz fake account. You are right, however. The only ranking that counts is in January. Seems to me that in 2010, we had plenty of games like this. The only thing that matters is that we won.

Take your garbage over to egriz.

What is there to post about on egriz other than the complete implosion of the Griz??

Firing the entire coaching staff seems to be the consistent theme over there.

I would not be surprised if we drop to #2 behind NDSU.

Dude ! EASY !!! This is not the #1 team right now !! The 2010 was never ranked #1 this early. Not only does this team not deserve the ranking (yet) lets save YOUR garbage for the end of the year !! O and by the way, your constant posts tell me YOU have no clue what your talking about ! We must be watching different teams, You can take your garbage back to NDSU, GOEAGS!

Hell of a game. I knew if the Hornets played well this would be a close one. EWU had a lot of huge 3rd and long conversions that I think was the difference. Our defensive front 6 have played well against the run for most of the season and it wasn't surprising to me to see EWU go one dimensional down the stretch. Also not surprising EWU had lots of success through the air. Best of luck the rest of the season.

Okay, now that I'm off the post-game emotional roller coaster, allow me to put a more coherent post together. My admittedly poorly articulated point was that a win is a win, and match ups are everything, especially in the BSC. I do agree that these rankings are worthless until playoff selection. I'm just thrilled that we are beating our conf foes.

However, I wouldn't call our performance yesterday pathetic. Like I said, Matchups are everything. My true freshman year, we lost to ISU in Pocatello. We went on to win a playoff game that year. Throughout my entire career, we had some serious issues with a far more inferior Portland State. Look at our Series history with Sac. It's almost always a close, hard fought game. Matchups...

Sac was gifted once by V Adams and once by the refs. 14 points. We dominated in stats and won the game. Good teams find a way to win, even if it is ugly. And there is a really important #1 ranking that we have earned... #1 in the Big Sky.

Also, I still don't think we have a qb controversy, I think KP was just a better... matchup... against the Sac secondary.

Oh and regarding Bisonville, I do really hate cow bells...

As a certain o-line coach/offensive coordinator used to say, who cares if they know what we are doing. They still have to stop us... :thumb:

Agreed, but there's no reason to make it easier on the other team. If were capable of just turning it sideways and running it up an opponent's ass, I'd be fine with being totally predictable. Unfortunately, we're not that kind of team. Keeping an opponent off-balance would really help the offense. I'd love to see us put that double tight on the field and run a little play action off of it. The way the D's seem to creep up on us, a little over-the-top threat would probably help our first and second-down running game a lot.
