Sac to the WAC?????

I don't see SJSU going anywhere.

Reno is too close to Sac to split the divisions there, IMO. Also, I just can't see Montana making this move. Sac actually has less infrastructure to improve than Montana does. While I don't like Sac making this move, it's easier for me to see it for Sac than Montana. Also, I'd say there's more of an argument to jettison Idaho than NMSU. The only reason Idaho jumped when Boise did was internal politics; they're an FCS school in sheep's clothing.

If there IS a reshuffling, I'm more inclined to see THIS:

Pacific Division

Sac
Manure Pile
Reno
PSU
Hawaii

Desert Division

Fresno
Cow Poly
USU
NMSU

Be prepared for the next couple of days as they will be the biggest changes in the college athletics history. At 9:30pm on 06/09/10, ESPN is reporting Nebraska will move to the Big 10. Colorado has an invite to the Pac 10 and will more than likely accept, along with Texas, A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.

That leaves KU, KSU, Mizzou, Baylor and Iowa State holding the bag which then could raid parts of the MWC, who in turn will raid the WAC. Crazy shit is about to happen!!

GCM: I can't believe that after SJSU was one of the last teams UOP ever beat (on the last play of the game, no less), I forgot about them. I guess that would kinda force my hand to split Sac from Reno, wouldn't it? It wouldn't be good to have 6- and 4-team divisions....

SHA: Have you been hanging around eGriz lately? Their euphemisms seem to have worn off on you.

You obviously don't pay attention to television...I could care less what's on eGriz...

I guess it's Baylor and La Tech to CUSA. Also hear that after Nebraska next on the list for B12 is Maryland or Rutgers? Appears these conferences are being carved out strictly by tv marketshare. Also rumblings that BCS schools will have their tax exempt status removed. Makes sense, afterall these BCS super conferences are nothing more than a for-profit business guised as a non-profit.

Agreed SHA, crazy stuff happening. How can the Pac-10 have Oklahoma State or Texas?

$$ Aside, adding potentially 6 more schools to the Pac-10 sounds horrible. The coastal footprint coupled with natural rivalry pairings of schools being located close together (AZ-AZ St, USC-UCLA, etc.) couldn't be planned out much better. Adding other big schools such as TX brings more prestige, but doesn't seem good for the long term health of the conference. The Pac-10 may not be a deep powerhouse in football, but it does have strengths across the board. It will be interesting to see how all the conferences end up once the dust settles!

I think they feel that going from $7 to $10 million to over $20 million per school per year in television money will help ease any of the problems that arise from having that big of a conference spread out over half the country.

What this does do for CU is really bring up their basketball programs which are in the huge shadow of KU, KSU and UT to more of an even playing field, UCLA notwithstanding this last year.

Also, it really gives more credibility to their Olympic Sports because pretty much every single Pac 10 Olympic Sport team makes its respective NCAA Tournament : i.e. volleyball, softball, tennis, etc.

Until you list reasons and or facts to back up anything you post, you will be ignored. As far as most posters here are concerned, you're a troll.

Answer some of the questions that you've been presented with before you come over and talk smack.

Well considering that more Sacramento area folks get a Sac State MBA as opposed to a davis one, Id say you're going to be a day late and a dollar short (as davis was in the 90's when they had the chance to move up)
