Sacramento State

This Saturday Sept 16th the Wildcats and the Hornets will meet as non conference foes for the fourth straight year in Sacramento California at 7pm MST.

Weber State leads the series against the Hornets 13-8, and have won 6 of the last 10 games, HOWEVER... Sacramento State has won 3 of the last 5 (2012,2013,2014) and Weber has not won in Sacramento since 2008 when Weber were Big Sky Champs.

Weber needs to get that monkey off their back and get what has been a very elusive win in Sacramento.

The Hornets are coming off a thrubbing of Incarnate Word 56-22. They also played well in week one losing to the University of Idalol 28-6.

It's hard to gage just how good the Hornets really are, Idaho who they looked pretty decent against just got thumped by UNLV (who lost to Howard the week before) 44-16. And Incarnate Word who is only in their 5th year of FCS football got demolished by Fresno State 66-0 in week one. Could the Hornets be better than advertised? Or have their games been misleading? Cant tell for sure yet.

Weber on the other hand is coming off a game they should have won (TURNOVERS :wall: ) against the Golden Bears of Pac 12 representative California. After taking a 20-17 lead into the 4th Qtr, the Golden Bears went on to score 16 straight fueled by Weber State turnovers to win by 13. The week prior Weber State laid down the gauntlet on UM Western in a 76-0 rout. Although impressive one must not forget that UM Western is an NAIA school and the result should not be thought too much on. Weber showed some very promising signs in their game against the Golden Bears including outstanding defense and quarterback play.

In my opinion we are going to see just how good both of these teams really are on Saturday. The Hornets will be looking to keep their streak in California alive and Weber wants to end their Sacramento draught. I think Weber is the better team and will be the favorite going into the game. The Hornets will make it competitive though and the game could very well come down to the wire.

My prediction. Weber State scores late to put it away and wins 31-20

GO WILDCATS

I think this Weber State team is good. Really, really good. Perhaps the best team we've had since 2008.

I see Weber running away with this one 45-10

Weber is good, I really believe that. But, Sac has looked much better than was expected. I think Weber wins, but I don't see a blowout.

Ugh Saturday night cant come fast enough, I am stoked to see this Weber team play again. And to see what they are truly made of.

Let's get this going already! I'm surprised UND is getting whooped like they are.

Yeah UND is a huge surprise right now.

Also another surprise, Davis beat Portland State 37-7 :o

Only about 20 minutes till kick-off GO WILDCATS

Wow what a start!

Love seeing us score 2 two-point conversions on the swinging gate against Sears and Smaha. A taste of their own medicine.

The only I'm not enjoying is seeing our starting QB carry the ball so much. Taking a lot of hits.

I thought this last week, too, but if that's his style of play I guess play to his strength and to win.

Watchbigsky is working really well for me. The broadcast vs Montana Western was pretty bad and I missed the game last week so I feel like this is the first time I'm able to watch this team.

The offense looks so crisp and diverse. Shifts, motions, different personnel groups, passing, running, sweeps, etc. Lots going on and it's all being performed at a high level.

Well, that last punt was interesting. You almost get the feeling that the coaches are using this game to work out some bugs.
