3-2 heading into today's game @ Sac State. I expected 2-3 or 3-2 by this point so I'm not all that surprised. Defense has looked good. Offense and kicking game/special teams (other than punting) has struggled. All three aspects need to be in line to beat teams like MSU, Cal Poly and Sac State on the road.

Looking forward to homecoming in Flagstaff. Go Jacks!

I'm still here...alive and kicking . Sorry I hadn't visited the site...The long summer of inactivity made me think that the kitchen ads had taken over and didn't want to come in and dig through that junk, but now I see they've been cleaned up. Glad to see that didn't keep you away :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: I'm back now.

What do you think of this current team? That game against Sac was crazy, and the Montana game was just pure joy, but this past Idaho State game was a bit disappointing especially in the first half. ISU is supposed to be the worst of the worst in the conference and we were down to them AT HOME??? Good thing we came back in that third quarter. I have to say ISU didn't look as bad as I thought they would be. They are getting better and that's always a good thing not only for them, but for the conference.

What do you think the future holds for this Lumberjack squad Jack? Is this the year we make the playoffs? Do we fold in the second half of the season like we have the past 5 years? Do we beat Cal Poly?

Hey, King. Glad you're alive.

Four games to go with the two on the road looking tough and the two at home (seemingly) easier. I could see 2-2 and I can also see 4-0. I'll split the difference and go with 3-1 in their final four games. I think an 8-3 record earns the Jacks a playoff bid this year.

Cal Poly's triple option/run heavy offense confounded NAU last year when I went to the game in Flagstaff. Tough to prep for it when it isn't seen all that often. I can see this game as a loss but I'm just hoping that their season ending last year at the hands of Cal Poly provides a boost.

Southern Utah has shown a knack of giving NAU a hell of a time recently as well.

Regardless, it's been a good start of the year for Lumberjacks sports. Cross country is kicking arse. I was able to catch the Saturday volleyball game and Sunday soccer match last weekend for homecoming in Flagstaff. Both teams are in 2nd or 3rd place. Football is competitive. Good time to be a Lumberjack!

Well, we got the "tough one" out of the way and did it at Cal Poly Out of the remaining 4 I also thought that would be the toughest. Dakota and Colorado should be wins...SOULD BE. The SUU game is a coin toss. I like our chances but like you say they always play us tough and last year they did beat us at home eliminating our chances to go to the playoffs. I'm optimistic as well.

Like you say, all teams are doing really well this fall. It's almost a dream to see volleyball, soccer, football, and cross country in the top 3 in Conf. Cross country men is ranked #2 in the NATION!! that is incredible :notworthy: :notworthy: It would be amazing if they could upset Oklahoma State at the NCAA national championships in November and give NAU its first national title. Has NAU won a national championship in any sport?
