Good one! He was my guy at the end. But I also thought Jerry should have gotten one more year. It is what it is and I still hope for the best. Sure is odd how much talk there was leading into the coaching selection and how little there is now. Like Jerry, I think Burton should have his full allotted time to put his system in to place. I guess fans, boosters, Crapzano, and the AD are just too impatient and think big changes should only take 2-3 years max. I am not one of those folks, I like in the real world.

I was not one calling for JG's scalp, but I was not sorry to see him go. There had been no signs of improvement over his three year tenure (and I don't just mean the record). I think NB has improved our program in just one year. Better attitude, better concepts. The defense sucks of course, but many other components are better.

Given some of the comments that I heard from family members of some of the players at the end of the third year, it was a good thing that JG moved on.

I'm not a family member, so wasn't privy to those comments, but hearing that makes me even happier that we've moved on with a young fresh coach closer to the age of the players and with a recent playing career and lots of NW connections.

Not a bad first year for Brady Hoke and Al Borges: 8-4 season and a bowl victory over Navy.

Hoke took his dream job at Michigan and he took Borges with him. A lot of people are bashing Hoke but I think he will do a fine job at Michigan.
