Scrimmage Thoughts

When the article says they played everyone. They meant it. And they switched QBs early and often. Every QB threw a TD. Even Joey Cook.

Our depth at WR is ridiculous. We will have some WRs who won’t travel who would have been top three options skill wise 5-6 years ago.

I think our RB depth is also strong. Ezra Moleni is going to be a problem in the Big Sky (as I projected).

Also tough to rate the defense when they aren’t trying to hit hard. But they made some big plays. I also think you see more defensive issues with personnel combinations in these settings than you do on the offensive side.

How is QB play from top 2 compared to last year? Does Moleni seek contact like Skat did or? Does he go down first hit? How is D Line and pass rush? Did we shore up the Safety/corner positions?

I saved in the gas money and bought 4 tix to Stanford instead! The HornetSports.com article made it sound like the offense was unstoppable - usually the other way around in camps/preseason. How did the pass d look?

Coach thompson was implying on a couple local radio shows last week that Bennett might be the initial number 1 guy with Camp mixed in…

Thanks for the info stg. :thumb:

Hornetsports has a good writeup on the scrimmage.

Coaches are keeping QB1 close to the vest. Equality was the name of the game.

Our Dline looked good given how strong and deep our OLine appears to be.

Moleni isn’t Skat. I don’t want to give you guys that impression. I think he’s more of an impactful runner that can lower the shoulder when needed to get a few extra yards. He isn’t going to run that LB over and go for 20 more yards.

Fulch will get his - but I really like Tau-Tolliver to be the breakout player on offense this year!
