SDHornet said:I’m sorry you took this as a personal jab Beardown and it was in no means intended to be that. I agree that UNC returns some talent but until last season, the Bears have never won more than 1 BSC game in a season. I think UNC will be able to knock off some teams but because you guys are at ISU and NAU I went with them due to the home field advantage. I think UNC will have a great shot at knocking off WSU as well as PSU if the Vikings are still having defensive struggles. Those are 4 games UNC could win if this team can make a smooth transition over 1 offseason into the new coaching staff and over come the absence of Jace Davis. Just because I didn’t pick UNC to not win doesn’t mean I was inferring that they wouldn’t be competitive. It was not easy making the win-loss selections for the bottom half of the conference. The BSC is the best FCS conference in the land for a reason; no team can be overlooked on any week.
Yes ISU is also going through a coaching change, hence why they are also near the bottom of the BSC. However their new HC has experience leading multiple BSC programs to success which will help ISU tremendously right from the get go.

Here is my statement in its entirety:Blofeld said:SDHornet said:the Bears have never won more than 1 BSC game in a season.
We won 2 last year, not saying we haven't been pathetic but do some research before becoming an expert. hno:
If you are going to quote me, don't take it out of context and twist my words to make it look like I don't know what I'm talking about.I agree that UNC returns some talent but until last season, the Bears have never won more than 1 BSC game in a season.

I was wondering if you did a BSC Outlook & Predictions for the 2010 season?
How did your conference pre-season line up look vs. the final outcome?
What was your head to head prediction %?
Did you pick EW to win it all and be national champs?
Did you get all the schedules right or have a bump like you did with this years PSU schedule/predictions? I would assume that could affect your prediction %. Just a thought...
Don't get me wrong, I'm not questioning your predictions so much as I am just looking to do some due diligence in order to make an educated decision on whether or not to take you serious...
This is my first time doing a BSC outlook & predictions in this manner. I have provided season outlooks and such specifically for Sac State on Sac Buzz. I missed the PSU schedule as it was not finalized when I was helping CS.com compile their FCS schedules forum back in May and I had not checked up on it since. The schedule has since been fixed to match with what is shown on PSU’s site.PlayerParent said:SDHornet,

That's correct, location as indicated in my info on the side of each of my posts.#1bearsfan said:You're a ball buster PP - I love it. SDHornet huh, (I guess he's a Sac State fan from San Diego)
Yes I remember that Hornet victory. Our team hopped on the plane at halftime and almost chocked it away. Sure glad we didn't. :thumb:I wonder if he remembers the game we had here against them two seasons ago. We scored something like 35 points in the 2nd half after getting off to a bad start in the first and not scoring any points as I remember. I think they ended up winning by 2 maybe 3.
I remember that Hornet victory as well. That almost became the first UNC victory over Sac State. Glad it wasn't. :thumb:And the year before that when they beat us on a fluke (very questionable) Hail Mary with no time on the clock.
I made the trip up to Hornet Stadium for that one. It was our HC game and I had a blast seeing old colleagues and thoroughly enjoyed the tailgating. :nod:And last year when we played them we were without our starting QB and the backup who started had, to my knowledge, never played in a Big Sky game before.
We shall see how different it is. As far as win-loss record goes, the BSC is still waiting on a decent one from UNC. Glass houses and stones never go together. This year will be a lot different my friend. Last season was the first season that I can remember Sac State having a decent W-L record.
I hope so. Football is a different beast than the other sports as a couple of bad games in a row can completely ruin a season, but I hope UNC can right the ship under Collins. We're getting a good feel for the Big Sky and based on games against EW and Mt. State last year we're pretty darn close. We've got a lot of good players returning who've been playing in the Sky now for 3 or 4 years. It's kind of like our volleyball and basketball teams. Once they got some wins in the BS and figured it out there was no stopping them. It will be the same for football real soon.

For this season, I think UNC either finishes at .500, or a game above or below that.
Best case scenario, UNC finishesh 7-4
I don't know how things were at Alcorn either, but from what I read, it sounded like a cluster. But, Collins was able to take that team to their best season since 2006, in his first year as head man. Plus I don't think he had the talent there as he does here. That's one good thing Downing did, was leave some good talent here.
I know UNC lost their big play making in Davis, but I don't think that hurts our receiving corp, it would have made them better no doubt. On defense, I think the DL is going to be stout, which will help the inexperienced line-backing crew. Not to take away from the linebackers, I think they'll be good as well, just inexperienced.
The DBs will be good, I think we have some good talent there, again some inexperience.
On offense, for once our OL, looks like they might be pretty decent (if they remain healthy). Receivers are obviously the strength of the team. At QB, I think Orms will be the starter, and this offense will work to his advantage. I think the biggest question mark will be RB, who will step up?
