SDHornet's BSC Outlook & Predictions

I do worry about our O-line, but skill positions should be top of the league if Stangel can be consistent.

D will be interesting to see how the new guys do.

We will be better than 4-7. NAU is contractually obligated to finish 5-6 or 6-5.
 I was leaning that way as well but went with a drop off this year. NAU’s biggest question mark will be on defense. A lot will need to be replaced. NAU will have some weapons out of the backfield but last season’s offensive numbers were abysmal. I wouldn’t be surprised to see overall improved offensive numbers.

Last year was a dispointing season - with the talent/seniors, we should have gone 8-3, at least.

SDHornet -

You obviously put a lot of time into this and have passion for Sacramento State sports and the Big Sky Conference. This is appreciated. Kudos.

If the Hornets get past a rough first start to their season then they're one of my picks for a Big Sky Conference playoff bid this year.

I used to live in the Bay Area as a kid and remember going to visit relatives in Carmichael, Patterson, and Modesto. Crazy memories re: the Carmichael relatives ... pretty sure they're living in a secret underground bunker, drinking "kool aid" and waiting for Armageddon about now.

Heh. Good one, dbackjon. I predict NAU 7-4 at best. My brain says a 6-5 or 5-6 year. Hope I'm wrong and I will gladly eat crow if so. Running game looks to be a strength. OL will be young. Kicking and punting seemed pretty strong last year. Pass game/receiving didn't seem to be the strength last season that I was expecting. Don't know what to expect there. I was impressed with what I saw from Stangelin his 2-3 games last season and they have young QB talent in the wings. Defense is the big question. The Jacks have to replace a ton of players. As usual, I am excited and plan on making the U of A and U of Montana games for sure.
