I was at the game. Coach had a good game plan on stopping Garcia. As soon as he touched the ball he was double and triple teamed and sometimes four guys were on him. Garcia struggled early, but he does have some moves, speed and can really handle the ball altho we gave him fits at times. He's slightly built tho. Sacramento Kings President of Basketball Operations Geoff Petrie was there with Coach T (Tom Abatemarco), who is a Kings scout now, I assume to watch Garcia. Coach T did take a lot of notes. I spoke with Alex Bausley, who was there to play in the Alumni game, and he told me that Garcia loves to play guard. Garcia was on the perimeter a lot throughout the game, but got to the basket with the ball in an instant.
The Hornets looked very good tho; a real team effort. Flaggs saved us with his scoring and Domineek Daniel with his all around play and then Toles-Bey for going 8 for 8 at the line towards the end. Eller, Duro and Dickson all had good moments too. It looked like Marcial and Selling were the only two that were struggling some.
If we can play like this we could be competitive with all the Big Sky teams.
