Figured I'd start a thread for all you west coasters having to wake up bright and early.

Craig Haley has us hosting South Dakota, with the winner going to SDSU.

Lehigh and Central Connecticut playing each other? That would be almost impossible. You could argue that these are two of the three worst teams in the mix this year with San Diego being the other. All three will get dealt to power conference teams.

With regionalization, IF NAU gets in they're more likely to play an unseeded Weber with the winner going to SUU as both Ogden and Flagstaff are bus trips to Cedar City, which is part of the criteria (<400 miles is a bus trip as per the NCAA handbook).

That would open the possibility of hosting San Diego wit the winner shipped off to NDSU or SDSU.

The popular matchup is us against USD with the winner to either of the same (both bus trips for USD)

FWIW, USD, Weber, WIU, and NAU all average around the same attendance as we do. UNI is ahead by around 3,000 butts.

Also a slight chance we're an outlier due to how the rest of the bracket shapes up and get shipped out further or have an eastern/southern team flown in like Weber going to Chatty last year. McNeese and Samford come to mind. We're close to McNeese in attendance and well ahead of Samford.

Hope Chaves put in a large bid!

Tough one to take...looks like the committee didn't think the sky was that good of a league. Feel bad for the guys as they put themselves in a place last night to make it, but can't leave it to fait. Both WSU AND SUU were winnable games. Looking forward to next year. Go Eags. On to hoops!

Maybe the story behind it being the NAU's coach's last season. They also put San Diego on a bus to NAU, so I think money could have played into the equation.
