SemiFinals opponent predictions: Montana/PSU/NAU

We know it won't be #3 MSU.

I am curious to see how the #3 MSU vs. # 6 PSU game goes. After some more thought I think MSU wins a close game, but wont be surprised if Portland State plays spoiler. Montana State swept PSU this year with an average margin of victory of 7 points. #3 MONTANA STATE advances to play #2 Northern Colorado.

I think #4 Montana takes care of #5 NAU handily. Montana swept Northern Arizona this year with an average margin of victory of 18.5 points. MONTANA advances. I think we will be playing UM on Tuesday.

yes, nau is the only one i would choose of the 4. but playing UM in the semi would be a huge game, very exciting!

PSU's Waters doubtful for Saturdays gane at Montana State. HC Geving gave him an 80% chance he won't play. He went in for xrays Wednesday night. Bad week for him, the Seattle game was really stupid, and he got snubbed from the Big Sky first team. No way Portland St. wins in Bozeman if he can't play or isn't close to 100%.

that is too bad to hear. i hope he can play. as for one that has had a random injury such as a bruised heel i can tell you i wasn't able to put a shoe on for a few weeks. i had to where sandals.

PSU Athletics:

"BETTER OFF WAITING FOR THE TOURNAMENT: The Vikings played a non-conference game at Seattle on Tuesday, losing to the Redhawks, 93-80. Nine minutes into the game, SR G Dominic Waters came out with a bruised left heel. Head Coach Tyler Geving decided not to chance it and had the Vikings’ leading scorer sit out the remainder of the game. Geving also sat down his other two star seniors, Fs Julius Thomas and Jamie Jones with seven minutes to play although the Vikings still had a chance at winning."

I was wondering why he only played 9 minutes in the game...

Is Waters really injured? This might be an old byu trick - claim that a key player is hurt to throw off game preparations. I think Waters will be fine this weekend and will have a big game. I think PSU wins.

I think you are right on Waldo. I definitely think his "injury" is a rouse. I'm fairly dubious about Geving giving Waters a 20% chance of playing on Sat. He is the team leader, a senior, one of the top players in the Sky... Yeah okay... A bruise heel doesn't feel good but a couple of happy pills and some magic spray makes things better really quick. I'm sure Huse isn't being fooled and is still getting his guys ready for PSU with or without Waters.

right now... half way through the first half in both games...it looks like it could go anyway. PSU is looking tough right now.

NAU is gonna be a really good team next year. Cameron Jones is a hell of a player.
