Shocker (/s), Dotson Enters Transfer Portal

Good points. I do think Taylor tends to get cute at times and go away from what works (playoff games, that inexplicable game plan at UNC for example). Regardless, this program under Taylor has greatly exceeded anything I expected as a Hornet fan so anything since our 2019 BSC Title is just nitpicking at this point. IMO we've been playing with house money ever since so I'm just going to enjoy the ride.

Agree with all.

As long suffering Hornets fans, the current state of the program leaves little to complain about or dislike. I’m a big TT fan and surely don’t want him leaving any time soon. But no different than the players that come and go through the program — I just want to see Taylor’s skillset as a coach and decision maker grow and improve. I believe it will.

Even if it doesn’t, the program has already reached heights not seen in many decades and it’s been a blast to watch. If the basketball program also takes off similarly to football, we may be in store for some great times ahead.

So, Urb...you desire to see "Taylor's skillset as a coach and decision maker grow and improve" so that someday he might reach your level?
That's hilarious considering you whine about my complete lack of desire to debate with you regarding whether you are more qualified than Troy and his staff to make decisions about the offense. You keep ignoring my challenge to provide ONE example as to when/where you ever coached for a living. Imagine that.
SDGenius...since you don't appear to be hiding...who are these JC coaches you keep referring to? And, I'd love to hear an example of this tremendous support you have given the program. Just one example of a significant contribution that you have made...since you want to brag about how you've been checking those boxes this request should be easy for you.

You know who your JC boy is. Don't try and play coy at this stage of the game.

Regarding your second troll request, those that know me know I have the goods. We'll leave it at that. :coffee:

Those who know you know you think buying season tickets is a significant act of support. if you really want to make an impact you would get involved with Huddle and support a football player for the summer. Of course that would entail you putting your money where your mouth is and I know you would rather talk big on this board than actually put up a couple of grand for a great cause.

And if you have a problem with Jon Osterhout you should make your insulting comments to his face. He's an excellent football coach, a tremendous leader of men and a loyal Hornet. But those who know you know you don't have the balls to actually confront him. We'll leave it at that.

Good to know that you don't think much of season ticket holders (I checked more boxes than that). Is that just your awful take, or the sentiment of all Hornet FB alums?

Regarding your boy, I have no problems with him. IMO he's just not D1 HC material. But you already know this because we've gone round and round on that topic before and it always triggers you into a roid rage.

Zero rage but it's very telling of the type of person you are that you are willing to attack someone like Jon Osterhout because you think it will somehow harm me. Nobody cares if you insult/attack me because I signed up for it but you crossed the line when you went after Jon. I'm sure you remember Clark as he was a frequent poster years ago before you ran this site into the ground. it took him exactly two phone calls to find out who was publicly attacking his son. You definitely have a problem with him now. The curtain has been pulled back and I'm betting you are going to get plenty of opportunities to explain your opinion to friends of Jon. I only wish I could be there to watch.

It's not an attack, just an opinion which of course is the purpose of this board. Very telling (and predictable) that you take it that way. Nice veiled threat of violence btw. I'm terrified, whatever will I do now.

I don't remember Clark Griswold being a poster?

Clark Osterhout is Jon Osterhout's dad, and a great guy.

That said, it saddens me that we would have fights over a wonderful Hornet like Jon Osterhout. I don't remember anything specific that SD may have said about Jon that could be interpreted as an "attack," though I do disagree with the synopsis that he's somehow not "D-I coaching material." Of course, I'm biased on that matter since I claim him as a wonderful teammate. While I disagree with that characterization, I wouldn't exactly place it on the same plateau as an "attack." An attack would be more along the lines of "not fit to coach at all," and I don't think anyone here would claim that. Jon's had way too much success as a JC coach to claim that. I think the failure of our previous JC coach may be playing some sort of role in this, but only SD fully knows the grounds by which he came to his conclusion. I've always found SD to be a very collegial guy, even when we disagree.

Can we PLEASE get along, people?

Re-read my statement again. I never said he wasn't D1 coaching material, he's served on a D1 staff before (and no doubt could do so again if he wants to) so clearly he is capable. I'm talking about as head spot in the D1 ranks.

Just re-read your statement...wannabe D-1 coach from the JC ranks...and when I asked you to clarify which JC coach you were speaking of you made it clear it was Jon. Good to see you walking back your BS but I still wish I could be there to watch.

It’s cute that you’re pretending like you didn’t know my stance on HC hires. I’d like to think it’s an act but that would be giving you too much credit. Maybe next time I troll you I can get you to run a billboard ad in addition to the phone calls.

Until next time, big man.

Your stance? Really? Your stance is that you are more qualified and intelligent than the current coaching staff. You cherish your opinions but every time I point out that your opinion is absolutely baseless you get all butt-hurt. You don't run this site to promote and/or support Hornet football. Your only motivation is to attempt to prove that you have more insight than the professionals who are running the program when you have absolutely no experience playing and/or coaching college football. You want to brag about your level of support but when I made you a legitimate offer to get involved with a program supporting football players over the summer and you conveniently ignored it. I'm not the only person who caught that. I have never made one comment on this site that I would not have said in person. Can you say that? Absolutely not...you choose to be disrespectful and hide behind your screen. You want us to believe you aren't concerned about being outed but yet you are the only person suggesting a threat of violence. It's likely now that people know who you are that nobody really cares about your opinion but you're not going to be able to hide behind that keyboard anymore.
Good luck out there.

I have been a SAC Hornet fan for years ('77 alum) and have enjoyed reading the SAC buzz football forum for a long time; however, lately it's been truly disappointing and distracting to read the buzz because of the hostilities between some folks, whom I enjoyed reading their opinion/comments in the past. We have enough harass realities in the world without spilling it on to the Buzz forum, I just want to read some entertaining and fun matters about Hornet football! How about taking your issues off line/side bar or resolve it. Football season is upon us, so lets talk football with some dignity and respect. Go Hornets!

Who’s claiming anything needs to change with the current FB staff? Nelsen and Orr knocked it out of the park on this hire (and likely others within the department), I’ve always been harping on the process of finding/hiring the head coaches which has always been a point of contention with you. We’ve got an admin that actually knows how to run a D1 athletic department and it’s a far cry from anything we’ve seen…and the results are phenomenal.

BTW, this isn’t my site and no one is hiding from anyone. I’ve never claimed to be a hard person to find.

Regarding “your legitimate offer” to get more involved via direct support, I’ll pass. Nothing against the Huddle folks, their work is legit and the folks involved and running it are good for the program (the Sac helmet fundraiser last season was a great idea), it’s just an archaic model. There is no need to funnel monies through a middle man (be it Huddle, Hornet Club, CSUS Foundation, etc) to get monies into the hands of the athletes now that NIL is in effect. If the program(s) are concerned about offseason/summer support, they can lobby Nelsen/Orr to pull the trigger on the Full Cost of Attendance model most other D1 departments are moving towards.

Welcome and thanks for your readership.

Agreed. My post above will be the last in this thread.

Post more Ranger! And welcome!

This is a rarity on our board (compared to others). But, I’m bigger than all of you and will kick all of your asses if you don’t stop!
