SI claims Gould has been fired

Football scoop reports that they have been contacted by UCD and told the report is false. Maybe the work of a wishful thinking dugpiler? Might also be something that's in the works that was leaked out before a announcement could be made. Interesting to sit back and see what happens!

Sounds like Gould canned his ST coach, Jeff Copp, who has coached ST and LB since 2012 and has been on their staff since ‘09. Traditionally the dungpilers have had the better kickers in the BSC and solid ST play…don’t we need a ST coach? Currently Hornetsports doesn’t show anyone on the coaching staff as holding the ST responsibilities.

Kelley is the ST coach, pretty sure we blocked a punt 2 weeks ago, Kelly has coached 3 all conference specialist Justin Weldon Punter, Cornish was 1st all Big Sky a year ago and Heath was honorable mention this season. Our punt and punt return were too 10 in country

Well, bring him on to see if he can teach someone to kick a FG and to assist with another position. Or just do it to piss off the dungpile!

Hornet ST also allowed 3 blocked FGs, went 9/21 on FG attempts (13th BSC), allowed 2 KR for a TD, allowed an average of 29.0 yards per KR (11th BSC), averaged 19.9 yards per KR (9th BSC). Negatives far outweigh the positives on ST this season, no reason why Sears shouldn’t look to improve this area of play.

No one is saying to dump Kelley from the staff; just pointing out that Sears could be looking to bring in better ST coaching that could improve the teams performance. We’ve all seen enough ST blunders in the recent past to know that solid ST play is an issue with this program.

Well there is a limit of coaches you have on staff, to hire someone you have to fire someone
Yup, those are the tough decisions that come with the territory.
