SIX WORDS

Do we not understand that attacking the hoop early in the shot clock is how we came back. Why stand around until the shot clock is out at the end of the game?

Why in the heck did we stop playing aggressive? That was the whole reason we came back, why not KEEP IT GOING? This loss is on Rahe this time.

Rahe doesn't believe in conforming to what is working. He has to run his style of play which is slow down the ball and wait til there is 2 seconds left on the shot clock and take the worst shot possible. Rahe is a great coach but he needs to realize what is working and keep doing what is working.

Missed free throws. Yada yada yada.
Missed free throws.
Too many turnovers.
Poor 3pt shooting in the 2nd half.

I would add:
Little to no help defense most of the game.
Too much one-man offense late in the game and OT.
Poor clock management.

Bottom line, though, Weber probably wins with even one more FT.
Tough loss, even tougher that it's the third loss in five tries-- not a great time for that.
It's painful to acknowledge that Montana is still alive to host :ohno: Ugh!
Please take care of business next week Weber.

:agree: Have said it before, Coach Rahe's Achilles Heel is his inflexibility in game strategy. Before you critic busters come to his aide, I also agree with the statement that he is still a great coach.

Couldn't believe Rahe actually took a frenzied crowd out of the game on his home court. The energy in the Dee was amazing, until Rahe's insistence on playing half court basketball turned frenzy into anxiety. We attack, we win. Forget the bad play prior to that unbelievable run, we lost because we didn't take it to NAU in OT.

They were reeling, we had them on the ropes, and we didn't even throw punches. I was/am disgusted! Still can't believe it....

Rahe was correct to apologize to the fans in the post game. I've never heard so much grumbling in the stands towards Rahe as I heard tonight. It's even, literally obvious to the Grandmas in the stands that our press breaker is a joke. Damn the flash cards, I don't care if Stew uses them, what has Stew done anyways?

Rahe's clock management needs some serious fine tuning. He needs to enroll into a bikram yoga class to work on his flexibility. I couldn't believe my eyes when i saw Berry dribbling the clock out.. WHY? Damn it, we are 0-3 in OT this year. What does that say? Tonight felt like deja Vu ECU CIT title game.

Also, why does Rahe take Senglin out every time he's feeling it. He is 18 years old, play him the entire damn game. He is by far our best shooter. He's shooting lights out 4 or 5 times this season, and he gets taken out of the game. Damn it all, wait til he cools before you take him out. He had 15 early in the first half, & scored 1 bucket, & 1 foul shot the rest of the way. :wall: :wall:

Am I the only one who wondered why Royce didn't get a look tonight? I don't know that he would have helped but with the way they were shooting 3s aside from Senglin, wouldn't it be worth a try?

Rahe should be ashamed, he really needs to figure out how to break a press, and where was Weber's defence tonight? :wall:

This loss was inexcusable, almost in the same league as the Big Sky tournament loss to Montana a few years ago. I'm more confused than angry right now. It's almost funny how horribly inept Weber was in that overtime period. No one seemed to know what was going on, even after that last timeout.

A few positives: The comeback to force overtime. The crowd was great. It was good to see Harold and Eddie back on the court. And I finally got one of those little Cutrubus Motors mini-basketballs that the cheerleaders throw.

Just to bring out the Wheelright conversation forward one more time and I've told some of you characters that I think Weber is a much better team without him, but seeing how JRich has played this season it might have been different. He committed some incredibly timely turnovers. NAU played an amazing game, sufficeth me to say.

I agree that the loss is inexcusable. I really hate that I left 3 mins early but after reading Roy's article about the game while I was sitting on the pot at church and the game actually went to overtime, I about died. Then I read that the reason that the game went to overtime was because Berry missed a free throw, I punched the stall (I'm glad it didn't break). I was glad nobody came into the restroom because I let out a huge grown like I was having a heart attack. :coffee: :coffee: guess I should stop drinkin that sage brush tea, but once it hits the lips it's just so good! :coffee: :coffee:

:coffee: :coffee: Screw those Cutrubus basties, but one of the dancers threw me a shirt. :coffee: :coffee:

This game was not lost on that last free throw. I was lost on poor defense in the first half and at least 10 other missed free throws throughout the game. NAU gave us multiple opportunities to win it, but we would have none of it.

I think it is 'test anxiety'. It seems to happen to us, in these situations, on a regular basis. I think it is related to coaching. We just haven't learned how to deal with it well. :twocents:
