Wow.
You are on this.
Again, think what u r doing is great with Skyline Sports and think your assessment of Sac State is spot on. We are a football program that has been on the verge for so, so long but just cannot get over the hump.
Anyway, maybe other posters can comment but do not know much about Root Sports. I might be wrong, but believe it is a network that is big for EWU, MSU, UM, UND, WSU, ISU
All the news articles about ROOT Sports from the Big Sky office centered around the schools I mention. It's a network with a base in the northwest and mountain region to my understanding which is limited.
Root Sports is never listed for any sports here in the SF Bay Area, 70 miles east of Sacramento. About 11 million people plus in this small region of CA. And this small region probably out numbers the populations of Washington, Oregon, Montana, Utah , Idaho and North Dakota. And people in this region as well of all of CA are huge college football fans just like any other region of the US.
At least that is my knowledge.
Comcast is king here with Comcast Bay Area and Comcast CA along with ESPN of course. That is about it.
And we get the Pac 12 Network.
Root Sports may be carried by a cable company here in CA but not sure.
I only know what I know and the only Sac State game that we all see here each year is a game against a Pac 12 foe and the Davis/ Sac State game which comes as the last game of every year, our one time a year where Sac State football is on TV each year where the home region gets to view. And they do in mass plus all the casual college football fans who tell me , hey I saw your Sac State team on TV!!
TV exposure for Sac State, UC Davis and Cal poly is extremely limited if not non existant for their fans and all the casual CA fans. Think there might be some small cable TV station that broadcasts Cal Poly home games but not sure.
But again, all I know is what my own individual experience has been.
Perhaps other Sac State posters can chime in here and there might be lots that I do not know. But i have been on this board for years and there is little mention of any Sac State game being on TV locally accept for the Davis game and when we play a Pac 12 opponent as all the Pac 12 games (or most all) are on TV here) Sac State does compete against Cal and Stanford for attention of course and we are insignificant with these two schools so close down the road with their superior pressence in college sports and being part of the power 5 conferences.
