To help ease the football fever of the summer, we are putting together a Big Sky Breakdown podcast series that will include a daily episode covering Big Sky Conference football. This installment — an episode breaking down Skyline Sports' selections for the preseason All-Big Sky team — will kick off the series. We will have episodes featuring 30-minute interviews with all 13 head coaches from across the league including EWU's Beau Baldwin, episodes featuring at least 10 beat writers from around the Big Sky breaking down the overall state of athletics for the specific schools they cover, a podcast with our preseason poll and the influential games that will determine the league race and much more.

I will post each of our summer series here. We will also produce print stories previewing all 13 Big Sky football teams that will be printed in July in the two weeks leading up to fall camp's opening the first week of August. As always, thank you for your interest in Skyline Sports.

Past two days have attended the FB Camps, met a few of our Recruits, i.e. Eric Barrier QB, Antione Custer Jr. RB, (De La Salle) Tamarick Pierce RB, Kyle- Urbon Jones, WR, T. Limu-Jones TE, all have been in the Camps working. Unknown how many are attending, and how man Schools. I have noticed Meads High, Woodenville School, Glacier Park, and many more, will try and check with one of the Coaches. Still quite a big number of young men in the Camps. FYI Shaq HILL Was in the area, he stated he will be ready to go when the season starts. I could have missed some of our Recruits, however some did not come early, waiting for starting of School sometime in September. Guess they wanted to enjoy the summer before the hard work ahead in FB. If interested, there will be "Friday Night Lights" at Roos field approximately 8 p.m. Will try to make that if I can stay awake. Have a great day. Vic Wallace

Good stuff! I liked what coach said about the progress of the defense especially the DB's. There has been a lot of criticism on this board about playing so far off in the secondary giving up easy yardage underneath. From the sounds of it our D will be more aggressive and mix it up more specifically because the DBs can handle things much better coming out of spring. I expect our D will be much improved this year and will need to be while our young OK gels.

While at the Camp last Friday, saw Greg Peach, he mentioned that he had retired from CFL, and was there at the Camp with Mead High School Players. Didn't ask if he was going to continue with the school after the camp. Anyway, that evening the camp had "Friday Night Lights", very interesting, all the Parents and Friends came to watch the games. Some very great Schools. One of the coaches said we had approximately 19 Schools, and approximately 900 Players. Quite a number of our Recruits are still at home, will be in for FB Season. Met approximately 9 in the Camps helping out. You will notice some numbers of the Players have been changed. Vic Wallace
