Now that the season is over and PSU finished 8-11 in conf. and 10 games under .500. I wonder if it is time for a change. 5 players and 2 coaches are gone from the team. I hear 2 more wont come back. It is clear that coach Hayes has lost control of her team. Some new blood might help put this team back on the right path.

Without knowing anything about the inside info and gossip, it looks to me like this was a standard building year, with only one senior and a whole mess of sophomores and freshmen, and only one pitcher (who did a fantastic job). Having one pitcher suggests a slip in recruiting, but other than that I'd wait until next year to make any kind of judgement. It's not uncommon for one or two players to have issues with a coach.

No kidding. This coach is one year removed from getting her team into the NCAA tournament. How often does that happen at PSU in any sport? She has earned my respect and bought herself some time.

Having inside information I do know that none of the players quit for any reason. They were dismissed has were the two coaches. The problem I have here is not with the dismissal of the players for there violations but with how coach Hayes handled the situation with the two coaches. She knew there was a problem and did nothing about it until the whole thing came to a head.
