Awesome thread! It's disappointing to see it end, no matter when it happens during the season, if there isn't an NC trophy. Doesn't mean the season's a disappointment. Far from it. But it's awesome to have a team that can realistically compete for a national championship every season.
And this team plays an exciting brand of football. They are fun to watch. Would love to see the defense stiffen up, as that seems to be the piece that would make the puzzle complete. Putting a championship team together in every facet seems to be easier said than done. We have the offense, and often the special teams figured out. But the defensive side seems to be a challenge. And there are many reasons for that. Heck, if the right injuries and circumstances occurred, the same could be said about the offense. It sure wasn't the same without a healthy VA for four games.
In any case, with this coaching staff, I think we should see solid Eagle football teams for a long time. And our team should contend again next year. It is awesome to see what this team has, and is accomplishing. And our players, coaches, and fans have nothing to be ashamed of. The vast majority of FCS teams would die to have the success that our team has had in the past five years.
