Most glaring stat---Chris Seisay led the Vikings with 9 tackles. Guess it is good we switched him to defense, obviously he's the only one who can tackle.

We don't need to know how to tackle. If our opponents would just play fair and fall down when we bump into them, every thing would be just fine.

Alan, I'm surprised to see you take a negative attitude here, you're generally all sunshine and lollipops.

I've attended to many Viking football games over too many years to be "all sunshine and lollipops" about the way we play. I thought that last with our new coach we had finally turned the corner. How many turnovers have we had in our three games this season, how many penalties, how many missed tackles? This looks a lot like the old days.

Fair enough, it is frustrating, but I think things really are different with Barnum. We lost a lot on defense from last year and that has been compounded by an above average number of injuries. If we finish above five hundred this year I see that as enough to keep the momentum that this program has developed going. All the games we have lost have been on the road against solid competition for an FCS team. We should beat Idaho State this week (we're favored by ~17 points), if we can win the following week on the road against Weber there will be reason for optimism.

We should still be able to finish 6-5. That's allowing for a loss to Eastern and either Cal Poly or NCU.

That won't be enough to get us in the playoffs. We need to get at least a split against EWU and Cal Poly (both at home) and win the other games for a shot at an at-large. Given the success the conference had against the mighty Missouri Valley this year, 7-4 should get us in. 6-5 won't.

Agreed. Mostly just putting out there where we might finish. I'd be happy with 7-4. 6-5 is okay, based on where this program was after Burton all but left it for dead but a step back and might hurt some of the buzz from last year.

Hurt some buzz? We drew less than 5 grand for our opener. Since then we have been blown out twice and lost our first conference game. How many folks do you think are going to come out Saturday in the rain to watch us play ISU? That number will tell you if there is any "buzz" around our team.

Similar to what I've said on the Blazer forums, with all the momentum derived from last season, the last thing that should happen is a regression. To continue the "buzz" we need to make the playoffs this year.
