While one game better in conference wins and one more win in tournament play was less than what I'd expected/hoped, it was a good year. A good foundation was built off the court for sure but time will tell on the court. Losing the trio that scored 58 of 66 points in a year end game we should have won isn't building a foundation, but rather losing one. That being said I expect we will build on the success this year and should be in top two next year. The players sitting out look good on paper. Not sure about comparing a 5-6 guard to Pangos. That is pretty lofty. I hope he is right! Coach will get it done.

Why would he redshirt Parker Kelly next year? We'll need him, and it seems he's ready to step into a bigger role NOW.

I'm not doubting the level of talent of the new kids being brought in, but I just recently watched the GU and Montana tournament games that Cliff C. has up on his youtube page. Bottom line, it's going to be difficult to replace both Cliffs and Laron. We lose a ton of productivity from the PG position, and basically all of our points in the paint and most of our rebounding.

I hope Forbes and Winford stick around. Winford could get a lot more PT next year.

Agreeing with ranger. I'm calling bs on the whole "building a foundation" stuff. The foundation was already built when Coach Hayford was hired - along with the plumbing, electrical, roof, framing, hvac, and landscaping. We just needed some paint, carpet and wallpaper. He inherited a team that finished 5th, had everybody back, had beaten the 2 best teams in the conference at the end of the season, was picked to finish 3rd, with no discipline problems, and the academics in great shape. Again, I really dont want to hear the "rebuilding/build a foundation" stuff.

They certainly are graduating three very important starters as well as a role player in Tremayne, so seeing this season as foundational can be difficult, however if you talk about developing a culture then every win, every tournament game played matters. Additionally Coach Hayford talks about the foundation being built on a core of four year players rather than JC Transfers. Those four year players get more time to develop physically as well as being indoctrinated into the system of your Head Coach.

Coach has brought in what looks to be a strong recruiting class and while the transition into next year may not be smooth I expect good things.
