Spring ball

Not feeling any confidence in the team unfortunately. I don't know what any new coach could do in this situation absent bringing in NIL money. Hope I'm wrong but I doubt we win any games this year aside from maybe Idaho State.

Outsider to program, is PSU football going to survive? NIL is hard enough, but no stadium, apathetic city, does anyone have any info on how committed President is to football? Athletics in general has been approaching bottom of barrel for last decade, and I read somewhere about an old feasibility study that wasn’t a glowing endorsement for future.

What sport programs are showing any promise?

There's this from a couple years ago from the President.

Caught the scrimmage today since it was less than a mile from my place which was kinda cool.

Some random thoughts:

- I think the offense had like 5 or 6 penalties, which I believe were all false starts. I know it's spring, but that's a little concerning. New coach, new system, I get it, but seems like a problem at this point.

- Punting. The formation we were using seems new, I could be wrong. Kinda running up into formation to give the other team the minimum amount of time to see what our setup is like. Seems like the #1 guy was getting about 40-45 yards pretty consistently and at this point if we have to go to the backup we may need to go to that plan that I read about in the south where a high school goes for it on every down.

- Snapping for the offense and special teams was interesting. Lot of high/low snaps and one over the head.

- Defense looked pretty good and dropped some pretty good licks today. I think two forced fumbles?

- Blocked field goal to the house was nice to see, although that kick came out at such a low trajectory that I'm pretty sure Simone Biles could have gotten a hand on it if she were out there.

- Robinson Jr looks like a play maker. Had that feel of good things happening when the ball was in his hands.

On to the spring game next week!
