.....anyone know the dates for spring ball yet?....let's talk battles....I would imagine there will be some real interesting ones at WR...also TE..and defensive secondary has to be looking for some answers......anyone else thinking of anything we should be looking for this spring?.....

I do not believe we obtained the home run type of players needed to improve the offense for the 2014 season other than one JUCO RB. Maybe, he will be the home run type of player we need to score more points. I thought Kramer would go after two transfer WR's to step in immediately as we lost three key Wr's but that did not happen as of today.

We all get it you want more JC players. On a positive note notupforANYchallenge poster #2 has broken up with a ISU player and we will not need to listen to her incoherent ramblings.

Do you have an opinion about the subject letuknow? Do not ruin clawsout subject by making knucklehead remarks after a poster posts their opinion otherwise I will play the game with you after you post in the future.

With as much as Idaho State throws the ball you would think this team would be loaded and deep at WR. Make no mistake unless the RS Freshman are absolute studs the WR position should be considered a major area of concern. I am sure they will find an incoming FR or two that will step in and show some glimpses. But remember a kid like Chad Hansen showed a ton of promise but not a great deal of production as a True Freshman. My point, it is not likely that a super young receiving corps is going to deliver what ISU needs offensively, especially if the running game continues to not be consistently average.

I am of the opinion that Idaho State is going to have to run the ball quite a bit more this fall to be successful. If they cannot run the ball the young receivers may really struggle to be productive. Nothing will help the young fellas more than a consistent running game.

I also expect the tight ends to get a ton of passes this year.

I am not saying the offense won't be good but they need some late JC kids or a few drop downs. Maturity in that unit is imperative.

I think the DB's will be very good by the time fall ball rolls around. The offensive line will be really good and the D Line is improving.

I am worried about depth at LB (this unit needs more speed IMO) and kicker. Kicker sounds weird I know, but I am really eager to see what the RS FR can do. ISU should never stink at punting and kicking--they play in a Dome for Crying Out loud.

Anyhow my two cents...

I agree Bengalcub... we just need a few more additions to help the 2014 team. Maybe, Kramer is out of scholarships for the 2014 season but he did mentioned he was interested in obtaining a drop down QB a few weeks ago on the coaches show.

bengalcub - I agree with you about the WR's. Today, in the Idaho Journal, "With Hansen’s departure, the most experienced receiver will be redshirt sophomore Broc Malcom, who caught 51 balls for 524 yards and a pair of scores". Is there a need with transfer WR"s coming into the program for the 2014 season? I believe there is a need as the Bengals are still considered a passing team.
