Does anyone know when spring football begins? I can't wait for the new year to begin because this is our year to win it all. Go Hornets!
Has anyone been able to evaluate the different recruiting classes in the Big Sky, Where do we stand in relation to other teams recruiting. E.W. was complaining that they got such a late start that it hurt them a litttle.

I think the BIG question that has to be answered is Who is going to step up and be the LEADER. Not necessarily the guy who has the position, though that does not necessarily disqualify them. I want to know who is going to motivate these guys to work together on their own, to get better on their routes, get better conditioned, stronger in the weight room, cohesive as a unit.

Who is that guy? Who will step up? Who is going to carry this team on their back?

Spring football is a mere 3 weeks away. Freshman QB Jake Geringer should be in camp, this would be a great opportunity to see how he fits into the fold of Hornet Football. Also with the coaching staff finalized, we might catch a glimpse of how the new coaches are settling in and see their interaction with the returning players first hand.

The Sacramento State football team will open its 2011 spring practice schedule on Wed., March 30. The Hornets will conduct 12 practices and three scrimmages before capping the offseason with the annual spring game on Sat., April 23. The first scrimmage will take place on Sat., April 9 at 9 a.m. on the practice field. The second will come one week later at 10 a.m. inside Hornet Stadium. All practices are open to the public, however, times and dates are subject to change.

Sacramento State will also host the fifth annual Coaches Clinic on Apr. 22. The event will be held at the Sacramento State Alumni Center and will begin at 5 p.m. Coaches planning on attending should contact Katy Logaburn at (916) 278-7053. The cost is $20 and includes parking if purchased in advance. Tickets will also be available at the door for $25 but does not include parking.

Look forward to the weekend scrimmages and game...we can get a thread going on what everyones opinion is after watching.

You already know what I'm going to say, so I'm not going to bother.
