Spring Game

My first impression of our Bears is very good. I really liked the enthusiasm and the pace of the no huddle. They looked sharp for just picking up the new style of play. They looked in shape. And I really liked the Spring game format being a real game and not a discombobulated mess of years past. Seemed like quite a few fans were on hand also.Looks like we have a few QBS that can step right in without a hiccup. Only downside I saw was , the special teams need some work in every phase. All in all,I was impressed and cant wait till fall.Go Bears!!!

Yeah I was impressed as well. Special Teams were horrible again. I think the o-line needs some work too. Either that or our defensive line is really good. All the QB's looked good too. I thought Baca probably had the worst day out of all the QB's.

It's good to see some positive reaction but just keep in mind no team ever in the history of college football has not looked better, stronger, faster, in their spring game. Although I think we can't help but be better after the abortion that we had the last 5 years the jury is still out. Not a fan of the no huddle spread it's a gimmick and gimmicks only last so long but I hope and pray they prove me wrong! I will eat crow in double helpings if they do! :o

Yeah, you can't take much of anything from Spring. I like what I've seen in practices and scrimmages, but really some of us have been saying that for a few years now. I do believe you can come out of spring and see we're extremely talented at the wide receiver spot, even if Jace can't get his grades up. Some of those younger guys are awesome! Peoples, Mack, Walker, Morris, Gunn. That's quit impressive.

Collins has high hopes for Morris, saying he could be the most talented receiver to come out of UNC.

An a negative note: Offensive line gave up 16 sacks.

Thanks again for the updates.

Liking what I am reading here- in shape, enthusiasm, up tempo, etc.

Big difference from the prior spring reports.

Same here, I'm not a big fan of the spread offense, but I do think these guys know how to run it a hell of lot better than before. Coach Collins is bringing back the much needed spark to this program.

Maybe a little of topic, but I just heard Cameron Deen, QB, asked for and was granted his release. Supposedly he is transferring to Mt. Sac JC in California. I know Mt. Sac is Consistently ranked as one of the top JC teams in the Country and their 1st and 2nd string QB's usually get FBS or FCS scholorship offers.

That's too bad but I was afraid this might happen. I wish him the best.

I guess this make sense for Deen because I didn't see him being either the #1 or #2 QB. If he goes to Mt. Sac. for a year he should still have two years of eligibility left when he leaves. Good luck to him.

He had the talent for sure but seemed to never catch on the the offense with this coaching staff nor the previous.

Does anyone know what happened to Andrew Downing? I didn't see him mentioned in the news of the Spring game. I hope he is still on the team. I know it must have been hard for him to deal with the coaching change.

As far as I know he is sticking with the team, I know somebody had asked that during one of the live chats. What happen to McDonald? I don't see him on the roster anymore.

does anyone know where Schwindt ended up at? Probably a JC or d2? That meathead probably isn't putting much thought into football though. I can see him as a MMA fighter or something.
