Spring recruits

Signed another one.

6'8" JR that started 5 games at PG, hmmmm. We're listing him as a F, likely he'll be the starter at the 4? Or could we see someone else slip in at SG with Dickson sliding to the 3 and Joe to the 4? Or does Dickson come off the bench...

We may be terrible again, but I'm at least interested to see what this team will be able to do with key returners.

PG Garrity
SG Dickson (hmmm)
SF Eberhard
PF Quigley
C Veteto

I agree with this. Quigley could be a redshirt as Salley might be the primary forward coming off the bench if he doesn’t earn a starting spot. The Hornets need Dickson and his athleticism near the hoop as much as possible; I'll cringe if Katz uses him at the 2 spot.

Does this complete the recruiting class? I can’t imagine there being more than 6 scholarships available unless there were some recent departures opening up more spots.

Quigley seems like a player that fits Katzs style. Wish they would sign the kid from Serra in Gardena, Kajon Mack.

Kajon Mack has/had offers from both USF and Sac State. Not sure what his status is at this point, but I think all our schollies are spoken for at this point?

Heard that Alex Tiffin might have been interested in coming to play across the Causeway. Are you guys full on schollies? Reports have him going to Chaminade, but he was also interested in being a Hornet.

I had originally thought he was headed to Chaminade, but the LA Times is reporting that Tiffin is headed to your way.

This is true, he'll RS this year and be a Jr. for the 2013-14 season... I've seen him listed from 6'7" 200 to 6'9" 220.

I thought we were full but I don’t know for sure. We announced 6 signees. Tiffin would have to sit a year anyways so maybe he is willing to do so while not on scholarship. It looks like he still has his redshirt available.

Tiffin is listed as a 6’-9” F @ 230 lbs. Here are his stats, nothing overly impressive:

Assuming this transfer actually happens, he would be another body to compete for a spot in 2013/14 when Dickson and Eberhard are gone. We will find out this Thursday at 6 pm at the signing party in the Hornet Athletics Office lobby if he was inked.

a6man, what is your take on Tiffin? Any potential or just a big body to eat up space and minutes (if that)? :?:

When Tiffin came in most people were pretty high on him. Since then he hasn't really panned out. You could tell once Les came on that Tiffin's style didn't mesh with the game plan. Also, with JT developing as much as he has and with the arrival of Bozner and Clayton, Tiffin became the odd man out. Katz is going to have to work on his game, otherwise he is going to be another body to fill up space.
