Spring Signing Period

Spring signing begins April 16th and goes to May 21st.

I know that our coaches have waivered over which position to bring someone in at. We have looked at combo guards, power forwards, and wing players. At first they were certain that it would be a combo guard. Then they were certain that it would be a power forward. Now I feel that it is anybody's guess. Honestly, with one scholarship to give, things could change more than once over the next few weeks. I haven't heard that anyone has committed, although it could happen without a public announcement.

There will be a lot of D1 transfers on the market real soon. You never know who might drop in. JC kids are in direct competition with leftover high school players and all of the transfer players. The spring signing period can be quite fluid. Hopefully we end up with a gem. :thumb:

If I had to guess as to whom the coaches were looking to bring I would think a combo guard at either the JC or a 5th year senior to come in right away and help. Just don't mention Carlino or WeberSki will get all mad. lol We lose J. Rich and Berry so there are some holes there to fill, unless the coaches are thinking that Jefferson, Richardson and Hunter can come in and fill those spots as freshman right away. Who knows? Its fun to speculate and discuss. Our last D1 transfer was Otis and we have had luck with those types of players in the past. ( Otis, Patten and Allred.) Does anyone think we will have any transfers of our own? The only guys I could see leaving are Fuller, Williams or Hajek, but I have a feeling they will all be back and I hope they are able to come back and contribute.

I will be surprised if they bring in a combo guard and even more surprised if it is a 5th year transfer. It could happen, but a real gem would have to fall into our laps. At this point a big guard/small forward type or a power forward is more likely. :coffee:
