Spring Update Please

Well, 6 or so practice's later, whats the word on the street? Somebody must have an opinion by now on how things are shaping up..... I won't be there until the spring game myself. Who shoudl i be looking for?
Oh yeah, as i said before, who's going to Lansing. Booked my airfair this week, anyone else showing up?

I went to one practice this week. Orms is probably leading the way for the QB's but Baca also took snaps with the 1st team. I like our defensive line. Felker is just a huge dude. He's going to help a lot.

i was told that qb still looks entirely up for grabs. but, orms will probally get every chance to 'win' the spot for fall. i still believe we will talking about this all the way to week one as all 3 of these guys adjust and mature to the new program. i also heard the o-line is working much better as a unit, top to bottom. again, what i have heard, has all been positive. keep up the good work bears....

Both Orms and Baca are probably to good to keep on the bench. I could see where both QB's get time during games in different situations. Peterson's offense is flexible so both will be used, I'm sure. Good article in the Tribune about Dominic Gunn and the other receivers and how the offense will be improved under the new OC.

Knock on wood. Although the starters look much improved the lack of depth on the offensive line is cause for concern. Currently any injury would be catasrophic. Hopefully some of the young guys will step up during the remainder of camp. The first thing that must happen is the emergence of some leadership among the group. Hopefully we will see some good things from the upper-classmen.

OL can't be worse really so that's a positive. 8)

Blofeld, I completly disagree. Most problems that the o-line have had so far this spring were because of young guys that will not make an immediate impact.

Just look at the scrimmages, we have been able to run the ball on our D, and we haven't been able to effectivly run the ball for a long time.

Pass pro has also been good. Once everyone on the offense gets used to blocking a man pass protection the oline should be fine. Especially with the expirience we have with Barbiasz, Shapiro, McGraw, Gumbs and Candler. Granted we don't have depth, and I agree that we can't afford ay injuries. But Bedell has this group playing more physical than I have ever seen them.
