A donation from Roger Trinchero will act as a catalyst for future fundraising efforts to raise the money needed to build a football operations complex and gateway at the north entrance of the Elizabeth Dee Shaw Stewart Stadium.

Thank you Mr Trinchero. I hope this really gets the ball rolling to get the gateway project built. As I went to buy a coke on Saturday I quickly realized that I'd be waiting in line for up to 30 minutes. Besides, the area to the north of the field was so crowded with lines it was hard to even walk through there. I loved seeing so many people but couldn't help but see that some improvements need to be made to that area, including better and more concessions.

WOW!

Those are some great results in fund raising efforts to improve our University. There are some really big things happening at WSU.

The new science building may well be the best in the country, they are making improvements to the Dee Event Center as we speak, the new ice sheets and indoor multi purpose practice facility and now the improvements to the football stadium plus other new buildings on campus. Not to mention new scholarship money. Just WOW.

It makes me proud to be a contributing Wildcat. Even if I can only contribute in a small way. WOW! Did I say that already. :thumb: :thumb:

Does anyone know if the stadium has a master plan?

I'm sure that there are some concrete plans to build what they have the money for, the north gateway and concessions. After that, I would think that there are some less formal, wish list, plans. The kind that would only become concrete if the funding, need and motivation were to fall in line.

I have not seen a plan for the North Gateway expansion, but I am sure it will come out when things are settled. As far as a 'pie in the sky' future plan, if it exists it would never be made public. It would be way too speculative. IMO :coffee:

Awesome, this is something the North Endzone really needs. + it helps the overall professional look of the Stadium.

Lets hope it goes through.

Soccer field just got new lights today.... Everything helps.

Really awesome work by Coach Graybeal, Becky Thompson and Jerry Bovee. Weber is so close to getting this project done. Heaven's we have been hearing about this for ages, but it would be something if Bovee actually gets this taken care of finally. Most importantly it would do wonders for the football program. Yes, we need to invest more into assistant coaching salaries, but that can come. This is very important to helping build the program, fan base, and getting more interest out of the community.

If they need more money, I don't understand why they don't ask the community, IHC/Ogden Clinic/Ogden-Regional, Welch (Maverick), Adidas, students for assistance. Buy Bricks for $1000 and a wall of sponsors. These types of things can take a project to a whole new level and get it done right. Maybe they are. I should give them the benefit of the doubt. Just keep the marketing guru away from anyone that has any sort of a wallet or purse. He can keep getting the inflatables.

I forgot to add Norm Tarbox. He has done a lot to help get this project off the ground. He authorized and has directed an overall plan to fix the stadium and help us progress towards a real DI football program. His plan looks at the track, east stands, north end zone, and some other additional projects. Thank you Norm for your long term planning and sage understanding of the issue.

Heard the East Side Stands are slipping, that's what you get when you build on a fault scarp, made of sand because it once was a prehistoric shoreline (Geo could go into more for us). That to me would mean the state should help fix these. Technically they are a hazard. Since they could be unsafe for participants, one would think that if our administrators had any brains they would make a good case to the state to provide money needed to fix these stands, and to do it right (I mean the university of utah can get a scoreboard paid for by the state). The east side shouldn't affect the end-zone project, use the donor money for the purpose it was donated. Don't try and use it for something else, that would really tick off the donors who gave the money for a particular project.

This post is crazy!! I said the same thing to a buddy yesterday. Why should the U get a $13M video board paid for by the state and Weber can't get 5M or 6M to help fix their stands that are slipping and a consummate hazard? I agree with the donated monies. Don't go and use them for something other than what they were originally donated for. The North Endzone Plaza needs to get done too. I think it would be wise for our administration to swing for the fences and hit up the state for monies to fix the east side stands.

The only way Weber will ever have a big time football atmosphere, is to have a big time football stadium. The North entrance plaza is a great idea, but I hope Weber has a master plan to make the stadium world class. That might include digging out the track, connecting the two sides of the stadium with endzone seating on the Southside and making an entrance plaza on the North side. Utah State is a good example of what can be done.

We can't even fill the stands we have. No point in making the place look like more of a ghost town. I'll support building south end zone stands when the east and west side are packed game in and game out.

I do think something needs to be done about the north end. It's a pain to get around during game time. I like the plans. Also, it would be nice if they had a bigger walkway on the east side.

WSU has pathetic fan participation from our school and community. Never any advertising in Ogden never anything at the school bersides 4-5 small signs throughout the campus. They need marketing to improve and we need to get some school spirit at those games. When I go I want to take pride in saying I'm going to the WSU football game

I never seem to have trouble being proud about going to a Weber State game

You make some valid points. :+1: & we all realize marketing sucks, it is the big fail by AD Bovee :+1:

The fans are the customers and have no obligation to buy what Weber is selling if the product looks 1-AA. If we have a legit stadium, fans will see the vision of how awesome a sellout will be and keep coming. Maybe we don't need to connect the south with more seating but any endzone plaza should involve moving the track. If we look big time we will be treated that way and vice versa.

Perhaps Weber St has plans to go to the WAC with the Montanas and Idaho and E Washington.

Underestimated your capability.

The nine game BSC conference scheduling will be an excuse for the Montanas and Idaho to pack their bags. No way will they give up OOC games that either are money games or bring in attention nationally.

I'm with this guy :+1:
