It’s hard to tell from the renders, but I don’t see anything that explicitly states those stands are being replaced. But I agree, it’s hard to imagine a scenario where they’d build a multi-million dollar facility over shitty aluminum stands.

I thought I remembered a while back seeing that those stands were going to be replaced by seat backs.

The 2019 plans and models had better stands on the east side. The newer ones don't. What's funny is the post covid inflation, the $25 million bought about half as much at it did before.

There is still no excuse to put $8 million dollar press boxes over $250k bleachers. Thats like putting $5000 wheels on a $500 Honda Civic. We're going to be a laughing stock of college football. Its bad enough people talk shit about the red field.

I agree, but at this point anything they do is better than the status quo. If this thing is built over the existing east side stands, hopefully they build it in a way that isn’t prohibitive to future expansion.
 
I was thinking they put press box in on visitor side...so when on tv it looks wayyyyy better....then build it such that a later time.. part of "The Plan" will build it so you can easily take those shiity bleachers out and replace them with less shittier seats down the road when I'll prolly be dead. Let's Gooooooooo!!!!!!! Hey Dopa what's your thoughts?

What’s depicted in the image shared in the announcement does not appear to be the same as what sits there currently. Let’s hope that’s the case.

I think they''re just doing it to appease the rich boosters by turning the old press boxes into suites. If it will keep them happy, cool I guess.

I dunno. There’s definitely that side of it, especially when you look at the plans for the west side of the stadium. But the project also brings things that the stadium is in desperate need of, like additional rest rooms and concessions. My main gripe has always been the state of the east side of the stadium.

I hope so. I can't believe any say administrators in their right mind would make those high school stand permanent.
 
Well I remember in 2000 in my living room with Paul Wulff and Tim Rosenbach and out comes the 3 ring binder (white in color). Had clear slide in pages with color pictures. As an art major...hey, it got me a job... appreciated whoever was using the magic markers and photocopied pictures but it did have the press box and suites and believe a couple of bathrooms in parking lot. Can't remember what else but was impressed. We did get the press box in 2004. Let's party!!!
