Stadium Renovation Mega-Thread

The concept of building a new press box is strange to me. If there's one thing Roos Field actually has that's good, it's the press box and media facilities. As much as I love the concepts you all worked on, putting in some longer, more hearty bleachers like those in the endzone and putting an array of suites above them would be a good start. The bleachers on the Eastside today are bad, even by erector-set standards. The ones in the endzone are much better.

I was at the EFN event last week and Colins spoke on the project. He mentioned that the design is that if they ever move the track the east side bleachers can be brought out to the field. Cool, but will that ever happen?

At least he confirmed that the cameras will be moved to the east press box so the home side bleachers are on camera.
cool, we'll be looking at high school bleachers for another decade or two.

It's strange to me as well, but at least it'll even out the stadium some.

"The future is bright at Roos Field! On Saturday, Eastern Washington University celebrated a major milestone by breaking ground on Phase 2 of our stadium renovations.

This $8 million investment will bring a brand new elevated press box to the east side of the stadium. Construction kicks off next year, with completion slated for the 2028 football season. As President Shari McMahan emphasized, this project is a massive step forward in positioning Eastern for the future and elevating the experience for Spokane County's Team.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the continued growth of our campus community. You can read more about the upcoming Roos Field upgrades here" per EWU social media.
