Stan Brock

Army has fired Stan Brock. Undoubtedly the entire staff will be gone including Tim Walsh. That is tough. They only gave them 2 years.

I'm a little surprised that they pulled the trigger that fast on Brock. Only two years, plus, they went through an offense system change in the offseason.

I just take this as they are flat out tired of getting beat by the Naval Academy, and if you can't even compete in that game, you're out. Army has scored three total points against Navy in Brock's two years and has dropped the last seven games for the longest losing streak since they started playing the game between the two.

I wonder if Walsh ever has regrets about leaving here. :|

First Lupfer (who was in his first year at Toledo), now Brock, Tuitele and Walsh out of a job. Tough profession, tough times.

'No substitute for victory,' says Army, in firing Stan Brock
Winning is 'particularly important ... to an Army at war' – and team was 3-9 after a blowout loss to Navy

To the Point — they're not officers, but the Oregon-heav Army staff has cadets' attention

(EDITOR'S NOTE: This story appeared in the Portland Tribune in August 2007. On Friday, Dec. 12, Army fired Stan Brock as football coach.)

I wonder too but even at only 2 years, it probably was a very interesting experience coaching at West Point.

I bet Walsh gets an apartment with his wife in Cali or Portland so they are close to kids and then he contemplates his next move. The timing might be right to apply for a job on the Husky staff.

Two years is definitely not enough time. I think this has to do more with the ongoing success of the football programs at Air Force and Navy.

Since Army has hired Rich Ellerson from Cal Poly, I wonder if Walsh will be kept on staff afterall?

Walsh could be moved to another position other than OC.

Brock didn't obey orders...

Question: If Brock is going to be in Portland, wouldn't it be smart for Glanville to have Brock on staff in come capacity? At least until Brock finds something else to do?
