The Wildcats sustained their first serious injury of the season during the morning practice. Tyrell Francisco (6-3, 245 Sr. TE / Kelowna, British Columbia) ruptured his right Achilles tendon, running a simple pattern. He will most likely be lost for the season and will red-shirt the 2010 campaign. Francisco had 12 catches for 131 yards and three touchdowns last season as a junior. He came into Fall camp as the projected starter at the tight end spot. In the Spring of 2008, Francisco ruptured his left Achilles tendon but came back to play in the last third of that season.

Coach McBride’s Thoughts on Thursday

ON THE LOSS OF TYRELL FRANCISCO
“He’s a hard one to replace because so much experience and playing time. Unfortunately, that is part of the game. It’s now time for those in the backup roles to step up and contribute. Brian Jankowski, Jake Rogers and Will Fahrenbach have all worked hard this Summer to prepare themselves and they now have the opportunity to play. Kevin Halfhill, our starting right tackle, played there for three years, so there’s a possibility he could see some time on certain occasions.”

This REALLY sucks!!!, Tyrell is a good dude, and a good football player as well. I hope he can recover quickly. Plus we aren't exactly deep at TE unless we get Nak's back.

when will we find out if nak is bak?

Is he practicing with the team? What are his odds of getting a final year?

Naks is in Ogden but not practicing. NCAA requested "more information" not sure what that means or if Naks is trying to provide it.

Tyrell is a straight-up guy; he'll have the year to recover and come back with a vengeance in 2011. one day at a time, and you don't want to rush the rehab. i hear he has a new room mate coming this semester that's going to be able to help the Dline in 2011& 2012 :D :D :D
