Stephen F. Austin

WEBER WINS!!!! 50-40. First home win since 2011. Getting back on the right track. I am drinking the Adamczyk juice... Been drinking since early last year. He's good.

Good game and congrats guys. Looks like we've got long season in store for us if we continue to let this QB play. Best of luck this season, we'll get you back next year!

Did anyone else notice that our starting center was a true freshman?? And the Cats racked up over 300 yard of rushing offense?? This was without our GURU OC calling the game!! The offense still put up 38 points. Awesome game and congrats to Coach Sears and his staff for this game. I was pretty impressed with the efforts of the true freshmen who played in the game.

HUGE WIN for the Cats!! Our defense got lost at times, and didn't put a lot of pressure on their QB, but we got the stops when we needed to. Still a lot of work needs to be done on defense. It is going to be good though. The offense was solid. Yes, we got lost at times...on some running plays we need a quicker QB than Jordan and he missed some wide open passes, actually four, two would have been long TDs, but Jordan did a good job running the offense. He can't miss wide open targets though. But, he was running an offensive scheme that wasn't totally open, and the fourth one he has had to learn since coming to Weber. A lot of plays were being kept in reserve. Pflu has got a lot more to show us. The offense will only get better and better. I'm really excited!!

Made the trip to Ogden this weekend for my nephew who plays and being the first time I've ever seen the Wildcats live other than t.v. or net streams I've gotta say I enjoyed the game very much. It was easy to tell a lot of work has been going into the "O" and it was pretty impressive to see that while there seemed to be some substitution issues a few times they never snapped with too many on the field ;) I was actually pretty impressed with the play calling which seemed to keep SFA off balance quite a bit. The "D" obviously has some work to do especially with the backs.....sometimes it seemed like they just weren't talking. It's one thing to get beat which did happen a few times but no reason for blown coverages and leaving WR's as open as they were on a couple big plays. This game could have swung the other way pretty easily.

Anyway, glad to have made it down and plan on making a few more over the next 4 yrs or so.

This was a great win for us this year, our schedule of course doesnt get any easier now that we have to straight FBS games to play, what happens will happen.

Good win, but there are some negatives, like 450 pass yards on our defense, and 40 points scored on us, those are things that need BIG TIME taking care of, we are going to need a pass defense to win the Sky or even compete for it. I didnt get to watch the game live, but I watched it on BSTV when I got home yesterday, and I'm still not sold on Adamczyk, there were times he made great clutch throws, and there were times he overthrew wide open going for TD's receivers, he also needs to do a better job of hanging onto the ball when he does a fake hand off, he dropped the ball like 4 times in the game. But it is just the first game and these minor things will get worked out, I liked how our offense could score when they needed to, good sign. run D looked pretty good, but that pass defense was just bad. Got work to do.

I love these games vs other FCS competition, I want to see more of them. heck even after we go to SFA next year why not start another H&H with them? Love these games. These are the games Weber should be playing, not the @ Utahs and @ Utah States. Bring in more FCS teams

SFA has a huge Offensive Line and are known for their Passing Offense. They have a lot of experience on Defense, which is a great sign for the Cats overall. Unfortunately, Weber has to play money games to keep our program going. Also, it is kinda hard scheduling FCS games since everyone is practically in the same boat as Weber, we all want home games against FCS schools but need money to keep our programs healthy. Makes it really hard. Scheduling is a very difficult process. I agree with you about Jordan though. He missed wide open receivers a couple of times on Saturday that would have gone for TDs if he would have gotten the ball to them.

Although I'm still not sold on Adamczyk's noodle arm and slow feet, I absolutely LOVED the play-calling on offense. Whether that was in response to not having their offensive coordinator or not, we can't be sure. However, it sure was exciting to watch. Kudos to the defense, as well! Sure, they gave up 40 points, but the offense did put them in some bad situations all night long and they made some big stands and forced turnovers when they needed to. Stephen F. Austin is no pushover. They are routinely among the top 10-20 FCS schools in the country, so WSU should be proud of that opening statement. :thumb:

Just have to say, I think a crowd of 6,181 is pathetic. It was the only game being played in the state that night (if you don't count that delayed crap fest being played in Virginia), tickets were free, you got a free t-shirt (or six or seven), we were playing a quality opponent, and the weather was perfect. What more could you ask for? :ohno:

I was listening to the game on the radio up in Wyoming, and the crowd sounded loud and large. Dissapointed to hear it was only 6,181. But I guess that's what a 2-9 record the previous year will do for you. :ohno:

I know many of you aren't sold on Jordan, but he managed the game well. He will have a few things that will improve, like deciding when to give it and pull it on option reads, throwing, scrabbling etc. I thought he did a very nice job of keeping the offense in check. I do not believe we had any holding or false start penalties on us all game. We will only get better! In Jordans defense, why isnt anyone critical of the dropped, wide-open ball on the money pass to Erik Walker in the endzone? I think Jordan played great, but better yet, he managed the offense and game very effectively.

Overall, I do agree with you. He did a decent job of managing the offense. However, don't cite the Erik Walker drop when Jordan had back-to-back plays where he sailed the ball far past wide open receivers with little or no pressure on the play. And there was one holding penalty against WSU. No false starts, though, which speaks volumes considering our starting center was suspended and a freshman was in his place.

As far as attendance goes, I think we were fortunate just to get the 6k, coming off a two-win season.

Really, the only major complaint I have about the game was the God-awful PA announcer who was in place of Dave Baggott.

Yeah, I was not impressed with the announcer at all. Neither were my kids. Every time he said "That's another Weber State first down!"? My kids would say "It's Wildcat first down!" :wall: :wall: :wall:

I don't like Dave as the PA. This guy sounds find to me. Although Jordan missed a couple wide open plays, there is no excuse to drop a wide open TD when you're all alone. If Erik makes that catch, there probably wouldn't have been need to throw those other high passes..

I"m just glad I got to see Weber win, who cares about the pa guy... if we keep winning at home he can announce all the games.
