Stew Morril- Piece of work

Utah State had a rare opportunity to showcase itself on national tv today under the bright lights of the Bracketbusters event and bolster its NCAA Tournament resume along the way.

This contest could impact both teams' chances for an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament should they fall short in thier respective league tourneys.

Stew Morril- "If thats the case, the game should be held on a neutral court, not at SMC's McKeon Pavilion in Moraga California".

Considering USU's 32-game winning streak at the Smith Dump, Morril understands the principle of home court advantage as well as anybody in the country. (Its because they never leave it).

Morril- "Its just crazy to me sometimes we act like we're playing all these games on neutral courts. Well, where the game is played is pretty important".

Well USU fell 11 points short in a 75-54 loss to the Gaels.

Morril, your a real piece of work. HOW MANY FREAKING BRACKETBUSTER GAMES HAS USU PLAYED IN A ROW AT HOME????, I didnt hear you complain about them being on neutral courts then.

It doesnt surprise me, you never leave that dump you guys call a basketball arena. And you never invite anyone to come play up there if their name isnt Montana Tech Poly College of Mines.

Whats the matter Morril? affraid to actually have to go on the road for once, your supposed to be a good coach, and good coaches are never affraid to go on the road.

What are you going to say when your team loses in the WAC tourny? We would of won if we were the hosters?

Oh and by the Way Morril, GOOD TEAMS WIN ON THE ROAD.

WSU's program is what it is because of Rahe who was an assistant to Stew for 13 years.

As much as we all hate it and wish we could do the same, Stew has no reason to not have 18 home games per year. He will do a home and home with anyone. Problem is no one will do it.

I think the St. Mary's game was big for St Mary's but wont really matter for USU as far as getting to the big dance, maybe affect seed but thats it. USU still could have 30 wins by March.

Thats not the point, Morill apparently believes all road games should be on neutral sites, USU has not earned the right to play all their games at home, because of their weak schedules year in and year out, yet they do it anyway, choke in the tourney, go to the NIT, and lose there.

Thats why they never go to the dance, because of the lack of good teams on thier schedule.

How does a team earn the right to play all home games? Lots of teams in the bigger conferences do it all the time even ones that suck can go 13-2 and then when conf starts they finish 17-14.

As for USU choking in the tourney, going to the NIT, and losing, well I'm not sure if he cares too much. Either way he's averaging 23 wins per season and making 300K a year.

A lot of people say they should go play some tough road games to "prove themselves" but I don't think USU cares.

Also, its impressive that no one will go to Logan because of USU's home court advantage...my dream is for the Dee to be like that one day.

It was pretty funny when BYU ended our state's longest running rivalry, 100+ years, 225 straight games between the Aggies and Cougars because BYU was sick of losing every time in Logan.

BYU said, lets have it on a neutral court in Salt Lake next year. Stew said in a nice way, Logan or piss off, we came to Provo. So BYU said no, they didn't play. So this year they finally played but it was on a neutral. Supposedly BYU will be going to Logan next year. I wonder if they will try and get out of it again. (Its not like any of us ever win in Provo)

I'll take 10 straight 20 win seasons even if it means not making the NCAA tourney every year. I'll take the soldout home games instead with the 5,000 students on their feet every week.

Stew still has more NCAA wins with USU than BYU has since 1993.

The difference between Stew and Coach Rahe, is Coach Rahe will play anyone, anytime, and anywhere. That could not be farther from the truth for the Aggies. They have the UM mentality, they think they are better than they are, and they both will not play someone of worth in the pre-season. Does Stew really think his program is big enough to do a home and home with a good pac-ten, big twelve, etc team, heck no. If he wants to prove his team is legit he is going to have to travel, and hope at best, for a 2 for 1 schedule. Bring on the Arizona Wildcats, the Fighing Illini, UCLA, UNC, Wisconsin, you name it.

Also another similarity of UM football (I assume you meant) and USU bball is neither could care to go play any road games because they can have a sell out or close to it no matter who they play at home. Why go on the road when you can win at home in a packed stadium.

That is the reason UM never plays FBS teams. They don't need the money. They can make it just playing a DII at home.

I think the fans in our state want Stew to go out and prove something a whole lot more than he does.

What real reason do you have to hate Utah State? I'm from Utah, and I cheer for the Utah teams when they aren't playing against Weber, and I hope they do well. Yes, Weber is by far the best school in this state, but why rip on a coach and a program that groomed our coach, and helped him become the coach he is now? Don't you guys know that the Wizard of Weber is best friends with Coach Morill? I hope Rahe does a lot of Morrilesque things, like stays at Weber when other programs start offering him two or three times as much as he is getting paid now. Yesterday's loss was tough, and Morril has every right to be angry, it was a big game for the Ags. By the way who cares... Why is this topic even on our forum??

A. Yall are sods for starting this thread about USU, if you wanna discuss USU go join there forum.
B. Rahe loves USU except one day a year he said.
C. Dis'ing Stew is dis'ing Rahe. Just ask him.
D. Again, why are we discussing USU on here.
E. I should have ignored this thread with Stew's last name spelled wrong over and over again
F.n LOL!

However, I do think, if Weber played them again now, that Weber would play them a heck of a lot closer than the first game. Also, I wish our students would support their school like the Aggies do... I parked up there once, I have Weber plates on my car, and I got a parking ticket because of it (LOOOOL).

I am really glad that there are other rabid Weber fans like me... thanks for supporting Weber and being a part of this forum.

9 and 10 are soooo easy... I think we should start a threat about the similarities of PURPLEFOGDOG and bengalhater... they could be twins or triplets with turdfergusson (what happened to him).

If Rahe likes Stew, thats great, but to say Rahe is molded from Stew is false, the preseason is proof of that alone.

Why should the game have been played at a neutral site? Just because it has tournament implements?

How many BB games did USU host in a row? We didnt hear Stew complain about them not being on neutral sites then.

If USU would have had a tougher Pre-season, this loss really wouldnt have mattered, but since their preseason was so easy, this loss could take their chances of at large away. We have seen it for 10 straight years. the easy solution..... PLAY SOMEBODY

Personally I would rather have 10 straight Big Sky Championships with an average 5,000 fans.

Than 10 Straight 20 win seasons, conf tourney chokes, and NIT losses with an average how ever many fans they average. Which as of the last umpteenth amount of years is the way Stew wants it.

I have several, and they all came in the same game.

Me and my family went up to Logan to Watch a Weber/USU game, Weber was up by 10 and a wsu player slamed a jam home, I jumped off my seat and was cheering and for that I had a empty coke bottle thrown at me, my mother got spit on, ( I swear if I knew who did that , he would be dead now, because my father would have kild him). And a guy sitting a section away from us called us every name in the book, while he was sitting next to his 5 year old son. WSU fans alltogether were booed from the stadium, and since that day I vowed to forever hate USU.

Not to Mention

Every year USU plays all these easy schedules, their fans B@#CH and moan about not being ranked even when they play so many easy teams, They get so much state wide attention, but no one can see between the lines on how phoney that program really is.

A. if the goal of the basketball program is to win 20 games a year and have more home games than anyone in the state (even if 90 percent of the wins and home gameas are against teams with losing records) and to get fans to the games and make the school a lot of money than yes, Stew is a good coach

B. If the goal is to actually be a good team, play quality opponents, and get in and advance in any tournament than NO WAY is Stew that great of a coach

C. Rahe is showing he can accomlpish B and I think it won't be long before he accomplishes A (unless some big school realizes how awesome he is and pays him a ton of money to leave before he can accomlish it.)

D. CATCAT loves the Aggies almost as much as the Wildcats. He wishies his major was in farming.

A. Is something I would love to have, its more important that B anyway.

D. Catcat doesn't hate USU, there is no reason to. I wish my major was Dairy Science not farming.

Sod...ya little turf!!

i agree as far as the school is concerned A is most important. Money always is. I just think USU fans need to realize they aint as good as they think. Stew is a good Coach. I don't hate USU eaither. I would love to see them go to the NCAA and actually win a game too. it would be good for Utah and especially good for Weber when we start dominating USU again.
