Stewart Stadium wish list...

I wish that the new bathroom and conssesion stands were build. I wish that the 2008 champs are recongized somewhere in the stadium. I wish for multiple sellouts this year. I wish that we could put endzone bleachers in each endzone bringing the capacity level to 25,000. I wish that the Big Sky Logos were on new field turf. I wish for an intense black out verse Montana. Obviously a win verse Montana. I wish that we can have a first round playoff game this year! I hope that we don't lose at home this year! Please add on your wishes as well!!!

I want them to bring back the Cannon and the purple smoke GET US SOME ATMOSPHERE

And I want them to take an accurate count of HOW MANY PEOPLE ENTER THE FACILITY WITH A TICKET STUDENTS INCLUDED.

Like WSUfan I want Weber's field design to be upgraded to something that actually looks good.

I want more night games, we live in Utah its not like we're not used to the cold, we have the ability to dress warmly. I have a Weber State sweater, I dont mind wearing it.

And last but not least, I WANT WEBER TO STOP SCHEDULING HOME GAMES DURING OPENING ELK HUNT WEEKEND.

Sell Krispy Kreme cheeseburgers at the concession stands.

The stadium and the DEE both need more atmosphere. What happened to the cannon? Thats a tradition, seemingly, at every college stadium. Someone should contact the ROTC program and ask them to push the issue.

YES, you can still have the bell and use the cannon.

I have heard from a reputable source that the track, the turf, and other improvements to Stewart Stadium are on the list to be worked on next. It is a matter of money being allocated from the state legislature. :geek:

Do you know if they will be putting in new natural grass, or will they be replacing the grass with an artificial surface?

Probably new grass unless Track and Field will throw javelin, hammer and discus somewhere else.

And will the new grass be legal with a medical card for medicinal use? Or have a WAC logo on it?

They're putting in Purple Haze so it will definitely be legal with a medical card

That should help in recruiting

...and Jamaican Reggae music will echo in the stands............

Why would we want a WAC logo on the field? The way the WAC stands now, the top teams in the 'Sky would be at the top of the WAC anyway. The WAC HAS to be the most irrelevant conference in the country as far as football is concerned.

The WAC is dead. I read a report stating the BYU was staying in the MWC, if that is going to happen, I really wouldn't be surprised if USU makes the jump to the MWC.

The MWC recognizes that TCU and the Y are preparing to jump ship. The best way to solidify the conference is add enough members now to withstand the next round of conference shifting, so that when the dust settles the MWC will still have 10 member schools.

La Tech is going to leave, rightfully so, to the Sun Belt or C-USA. That stinks for the remaining schools, but it might be a godsend for the Sky. That will force Idaho and New Mexico State to scramble for a conference. San Jose State and Hawaii, they are most likely going independent in football and moving to the Big West for all other sports. That makes the most sense.

This is in the notes from bigskyconf.com
GRASS ALL BUT GONE: Ten years ago, six of the nine Big Sky teams played on natural grass surfaces. Just two natural grass surfaces remain in the league in 2010. Eastern Washington and Sacramento State both replaced natural surfaces with Sprinturf with summer. EWU will debut on its red turf on Sept. 18. Sacramento State plays on its new field for the first time on Sept. 11. Weber State and Northern Colorado are the only teams still playing on natural grass. Ten years ago. Weber State is planning on removing its natural grass in the summer of 2011.
Please don't put in the Purple field

Haha,
A purple field, how nuts would that be...then we could play the song from Prince as the team enters the stadium, 'Purple Rain', and THAT would make my day.........

Not that they did this on purpose but Oct. 2 is home against EWU - typically this would also be the opening day of the ek hunt but this year for some odd reason the DWR moved the elk hunt back to the 9th, which is Weber's bye week, and the following week is away at ISU. So in a way - wish granted.
